Hey,

I am an Indian with a 680 GMAT. Have admits from Olin (no scholarship) and Ivey (15,000 CAD scholarship). Work Experience - 3 years in a Big 4 Consulting firm (not directly in a management/strategy role) + 2 years in a non profit.

I am looking at a function shift broadly.

Short term goals - Management/Strategy Consulting.

I would be extremely thankful if you could help make an informed decision. Also, I have very little information about job prospects in Canada post MBA. Also, what are the odds of getting into US through Canada?

Thanks!

Congrats on the admit.
As a Canadian, its hard to say the ultimate truth that the US economy blows Canada's economy away any time or day. However, lots of international students end up here because it seems that it's easier to get a post-graduation work permit

However, your case is tricky. Since Ivey is a one year program, I believe you are eligible for a work permit valid only for the term you've studied. Here's a link to help you getting started: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work ... ad-who.asp

Congrats on the admits!

To add to the question - I would not count/expect to make your way to the US via Canada. As a general rule, you will have to go through a process of naturalization in Canada if things work out and you probably want to stick to it until you are done, which will take some time. Again, not 100% but in 95-99% of the times, people end up settling with a life in the country they have made home and that will be Canada (or going back to home country).

And if you were not lazy enough and actually picked the right tags for your topic, maybe someone would actually provide some insights....

Can you throw some light on the pros and cons of working in Canada vis a vis US post MBA? Considering the H1B scenario.

Thanks!
