Think he's referring to the official round 1 confirmation email, not an interview invite.

That could be the only possible explanation.

Looks like first round interview invites will go out October 9 and October 16 - those not invited for interview will be released on the 16th.

I give hbs a lot of credit to be able to review that many applications in 3 weeks... but this waiting is torture.

I am a reapplicant. last year i interviewed at both stanford and wharton. Admits were receiving phone calls on the same admit day and i sat there waiting and staring at my phone for the entire day :cry:

waiting sucks, but its definitely not the hardest part, at least not compared to the bending over im doing this time around with my application essays :-D

On other school application, it would show whether official GMAT score was received/verified but HBS system doesn't say anything about GMAT score. Anyone else see this problem?

Does anyone know how they decide who gets notified on the 9th or the 16th? Is it by order of submission or anything like that?

It's random, based on which Admissions Board person got assigned your file and how quickly they moved through their stack and where yours was in the pile (it's not by order received). Dee Leopold has specifically said that nothing can be interpreted from the timing; there are no tea leaves to be read in terms of interview invitations.

Has anyone seen any alteration on Application Status? Mine is still "submitted" while in other schools it is "complete".

I know it's not the right time, but did anyone else freak out to see an email from HBS in their inbox with the subject line starting "You're invited..."?!

Turns out, it's "You're Invited: HBS Prospective Women Webinars".

They should know better!!

I got one too aimed at Europeans. I did look at the title was like what the ... but then I read then email and was like meh
