Congratulations to everybody! Hope to see all of you next year at Ithaca!
Guys, please explain what does it mean "Offers of admission are not binding until we verify the information from your application". Does it mean that I may press "Accept" in the "Enrollment form" and due to some circumstances (for instance, receiving a big scholarship at another well-shaped school) cancel my decision after some time before I sent a deposit or official transcript, for example? For me Cornell is the main choice and the best fit, but I also have a very limited budget for my education, that's why I have such a question.
xyappi, it's certainly not unheard of for people to put down deposits and then decide to attend a different institution. In that case, it obviously would be fair to notify Johnson personally so that they can "reopen" your seat.
As far as "Offers of admission are not binding until we verify the information from your application", that means they, like all other schools, are contracting with a third party (from what I hear, usually Kroll or Re Vera) to do a verification that your application is truthful and accurate. From what I've heard, it's nothing really intense - they're not going to interview your college professors or anything, but they'll probably talk with your employers to make sure you actually worked where you said you did and had the title you said you did, etc.
