It's a horrible wait... And there are only 7 seats left in the Singapore campus. :-O

Hi the breakdown is in the few threads above -

And typically 200 start in Singy and 300 in fonty - already 193 in singy

I am not sure if INSEAD will take in much more than 500, maybe 520?

I see thanks for the info. Wow the gender spread is pretty damn big. Maybe I should fly to Thailand and get a sex change or something lol (no offense intended... incase...)

I am MUCH more concerned about nationality. Most b schools do not have more than 30% women. INSEAD is one of the rare exceptions.

I wonder how waitlisters from R1 take it... it's excruciating. I cannot plan for my accommodation, third langue preparations, work etc.

Hehe I'm a R1 waitlister + Australian. To say my odds are bad is probably an understatement. Still, what can you do... but wait?

From the previous waitlist threads people got notified like right up to the semester started... and a couple of people were even moved on to the waitlist in the following intake...

Re: INSEAD WAITLIST January 2015 Intake [#permalink]
I am pretty sure they will not move us to the waitlist for next intake (Sept 2015). It is too far apart. In my waitlisted email, it mentioned (along the lines of...) if I dont get accepted for this round, I am encouraged to apply for the next intake.

Not to be a spoilsport, but if we do not get called up by the 10th, it means we will have to wait for someone with similar profile and nationality, maybe even gender, to give up the seat before we can be considered. Talk about overcoming the odds then! Plus all the consideration about giving inadequate job notice etc.

Re: INSEAD WAITLIST January 2015 Intake [#permalink]
This is from a while back:
https://poetsandquants.com/2012/01/17/the-ultimate-ranking-school-rejection-rates/

If the article is to be believed in then we should assume INSEAD has a lower yield (higher reject rate) than top tier US schools. (Read 2nd last paragraph first page).

Suppose that INSEAD (similarly ranked to CBS on FT) has a yield of 80% (probably lower), this means that up to 100 offers will be turned down. To cater for this, the waitlist must be massive if they had to match you off on all aspects of the candidate that rejected the offer.

What does this mean? Absolutely nothing...

If you are banking on INSEAD and you are on the waitlist right now, then good luck, you'll need it! If you are more realistic about it you would have probably applied (or is applying) to other schools so most likely you will be doing MBA somewhere next year anyway. ("If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with") In fact the way I see it, think of being on the waitlist as being dinged. If they call you, then Christmas has come early, if not, well there wasn't much expectation to begin with anyway....

To be honest, my rational mind told me there is absolutely no point in speculating the chances. Unfortunately my irrational mind has taken over and I am pretty sure this speculation wont stop till Dec :(

unless Christmas comes way early...

They already called up round 3 applicants! I wonder if they call the waitlisters by this week too....
