what amount would that be?
Its usually around 7000euros

if one choses not to accept the offer after paying the non-refundable deposit, the remaining installments of tuition will not come due, right?
Correct but you will lose the 7000eur deposit.

Do you also happen to know when decisions on scholarships are made?
It depends on different scholarships i think, some announce earlier than deadline date and some scholarships after the deadline.

Re: INSEAD January 2016 Intake (Class of December 2016) [#permalink]
Dear All,
I am a prospective applicant to INSEAD full-time MBA program from Europe (Round 1 September 2016 Intake).
I have a 720 GMAT score, a 4 GPA and a 4-year work experience in Engineering in the Energy sector. I also have a work experience as Management Consultant (at BCG)

I would like to know whether my application would be considered from the INSEAD admission comitee, given I already have an MBA from a lower rank local European school (this is a tale of leadership, perseverance and ability to cope with challenges which I will detail into my INSEAD essays).

I have obviously been thinking deeply about the rationale of pursuing a second MBA for me and I found that the INSEAD MBA program really fits with my future international aspirations, the skills and the enviroment I need to pursue my career goals, building on the foundations I have set since now.

I really feel INSEAD is what I want and need and I can contribute to the INSEAD experience.

I would use the essay n°5 to explain in detail the rationale and fit for a second, truly international MBA at INSEAD.

Would my previous MBA completely prevent me from being considered for admission? Will this in any case dramatically lower my chances of admission?

Thank you in advance
Best Regards

i love how you copied your post from the other thread...:)

you tick the checkboxes from an grades perspective but i would like to make two comments:

1) no idea about insead's policy towards second MBAs... best to use the ask this question in the Admissions thread instead. like you said, you need to build a good case for why you want a second MBA. the 5th essay definitely makes sense here!
2) You have not mentioned anything about international experience. As you know, insead cares deeply about international experience, exposure and languages. Without this, admission is unlikely.

Good luck!

Thank you very much for the reply. Tell me if this post is in the wrong place :)

Luck and a careful planning is exactly what I need.

Just to give a complete picture, my international experience can be summarized in:
1) 6 months in Egypt in a Power Station Project as design engineer
2) Many trips around the world (Korea, France, Germany, UK) during my work in the Energy Sector
2) 2 months in Chicago
3) 3 months in Southern US (North Carolina)

Only work-related international experience is considered or does the commission value any kind of international-minded experience (exchange, study abroad etc...)?

Thanks

I dont think so, I have seen a few examples at insead with a prior mba (from a lower ranked uni).

I think you have a really strong profile and you should definitely apply.

why so less activity and so less participation here?

Are applications fewer for Jan 2016 intake?

When I see GMATclub statistics,
GMATclub R1 applicant numbers for Sept 2015 is 156..
GMATclub R1 applicant numbers for Jan 2015 batch is 155...

But the same for Jan 2016 intake is just 64 !!!

I understand that these are not actual INSEAD application numbers, however, if we assume approximate ratio form the past statistics,
i.e.
Actual INSEAD applicants: GMAT club applicants= 4:1

then, Jan 2016 intake numbers are really low in the GMATclub statistics!

This i think could be a function of the increase in the number of rounds to 4.
Also, lack of activity, is the lull before the storm.

I was hoping this was due to fewer number of applicants this session which would improve the acceptance rate of those who have applied! :)

Any idea when do R2 applicants will start receiving interview calls?

I guess there are many applicants still in the shadows. Also, considering that interview notifications are not due for R2 applicants till around May 29, there is bound to be a lull.

Watch this space a few days before May 29 and I'm sure it will be agog with activities.

Staying ever hopeful! :-D

What is the process of deferring the admission?
Can you provide some details?

I'm assuming you are talking about R2 applicants. The deadline for interview decision notification is 29th May, don't think they'll start calling this soon. The phones will start ringing around 25th imo
