When is this? And is this only for those interviewed off campus?

Hello!
I've been here for some time reading, but it's my first forum post. I have just received GMAT scores (screwed my timing in Quant, panicked, skipping 2 definitely solvable questions, finished 10 minutes early, and got only 50), that are good. I would definitely like to get to HBS, yet I see some potential problems:
- all 10 years of work experience are in medium-sized private company in Russia
- no work experience at all in American or global companies
- almost no idea where can I get with MBA from HBS
Yet I have strong sides - achievements at work, high intellect, Math education, long experience of work on middle management position, several successful projects I coordinated.
How should I present my strong sides to HBS adcom?

This Webinar was on the 23rd - it was only for applicants who interviewed off-campus (mainly geared toward those who had to do Skype interviews, I think).

If anyone attended, could you either post information about it or PM with the high points? Unfortunately, I couldn't participate, as I was traveling that day. Thanks!

Nikita, I'd recommend starting with a bit of research of what you can do with an HBS MBA...their website is a great starting point for information. That can help you frame your application - as you'll want to tie in your past with what you want to do in the future.

I'd also recommend you highlight your leadership. HBS wants to groom leaders, and you can emphasize your leadership experience in your project coordination roles (particularly since it sounds like it was analytical/quantitative). But you don't want your application to appear too "narrow" - it's important that you come off as a well-rounded individual...check out the "Who We're Looking For" page on the HBS website.

Hope this helps - good luck!

Just wanted to wish everyone on this thread good luck with the week ahead. I've gone ahead and created discussion threads for acceptances and waitlists, let's hope that everyone is in the accepted thread.

FROM HBS Admissions Blog: Something for Everyone
This is the time of year when we begin to juggle: Round 1 decisions, Round 2 applications, college seniors gearing up for Round 3 2+2 applications...plus lots of you who may be already planning for next season. Also, we need to remind you of our holiday schedule.

So here's what we have to say:

  • Round 1 notification is December 9. I bet all of you Round 1ers don't need to be told that, but here are the details, one more time. On Wednesday, December 9 at 12:00 noon Boston time, your decision will be available online through your application. Remember, WE DO NOT MAKE ANY ADVANCE PHONE CALLS WITH DECISION NEWS. That's deliberate: We want you to be in control of where you are, with whom, and exactly when you get the news.
  • Round 2 deadline is coming up on January 6, which leads into the topic of our winter holiday break. Our office (and all of HBS) will be closed from December 24 through January 3 - re-opening at 9:00am Boston time on January 4. For Round 2 applicants, there will be technical support available at slatesupport@hbs.edu. We'll also be keeping an eye on our general admissions mailbox, admissions@hbs.edu, but we will not be responding during our vacation unless we think it is critical.
  • College seniors home on break may be thinking about starting Round 3 applications to the 2+2 Program. That's great. Pay no attention to rumors that Round 3 isn't a good idea: It most definitely is very suitable for 2+2 candidates. Check out our website for 2+2 specific webinars coming up.
  • Visiting campus. Well, the students are in exams now - then go home and to FIELD 2 destinations - and won't be back on campus until January 25. You're welcome to come and explore outdoor life here, but all buildings will be closed from December 24 - January 3. Information sessions and campus tours will resume on January 4. Class visits begin again the week of January 25. All of this is on our website.

This is a lot of information, but we're in high gear today.

We'll repeat some of the winter holiday info before we actually sign off for the holidays.

Back to checking lists. Twice. Three times. And then again.

Dee

Does anybody know how many HBS accepts and wait lists in round 1? I think someone on this thread mentioned earlier that Dee gave these figures at the interview

Hi, she mentioned that about 50% will be accepted and I remember her saying that 10% will be waitlisted but I am not 100% sure.

Hope this helps.

Good luck everyone!!!
