You could effectively use the forum to get better in the GMAT
First step would be to take a GMATPrep mock
(one which helps you understand which of the topics need attention)

Once, you begin with the preparation for GMAT, dedicate all your free time to it.
Since you are only beginning with your preparation, it makes sense to clear your concepts for every topic
and follow it up with some practice. You can find all the questions you need for practice, here at GMATClub
and the Timer feature will give you a real feel of test.

For SC, you could do basics from Manhattan's SC Guide and I would recommend the CR Bible by PowerScore for Critical Reasoning.

GMATClub tests contain some awesome questions and will definitely help you improve your
score in both the Quant and the Verbal sections. You could either buy them or earn kudos
to redeem these tests.
