I can think of three convincing reasons you should take Penn in this situation. They are:

1. Just kidding, go to Kellogg
2. Just kidding, go to Kellogg
3. Just kidding, you'd be crazy not to take the full-ride, go to Kellogg

Accepted to both this week, however Wharton offered no scholarships. My goal is switching from a career in marketing/management to consulting. Is Wharton worth the extra debt? :roll:

You can't sacrifice big gift given by Kellogg. It is really nice to have low burden when you graduate. lf you do want Wharton, then you can negotiate an then wiegh your option. However, I feel Kellogg will be the right choice.

Congratulations on both the admits.

If I were you, I would have selected Kellogg without a single thought. It's better to do MBA from a top school and that too without any debt. :)

Thank you all for the input, and thank you abhimahna for the congratulations. I was just curios to see everyone's opinion on whether Wharton would be worth it if I could negotiate some scholarship, or not worth the sacrifice at all.

I would suggest contact wharton and try to negotiate scholarship. Anything upwards of 60% take it, otherwise stick with kellogg.
Worst case scenario you still go to Kellogg but get to practice negotiation at this level.

My 2 cents ->
Kellogg is an easy choice here if you want to graduate with no loan.

But...There is always a but.
ITS WHARTON!!

Nah.Unless Wharton gave me like 60-70 percent off my tuition(which is highly unlikely given the fact their are a **** ton of candidates who would be happily - willing to pay the full price) -> I will take the money.

My vote here is to Kellogg.

I switched from marketing to MBB 2 years ago and I can tell you there is 0 difference in terms of MBB recruiting efforts between Wharton & Kellogg. Kellogg is the easy choice unless you want to live in Philly for 2 years (which is valid).

Congrats on the admits! As someone who did Wharton undergrad, I would absolutely take the Kellogg offer. If consulting is where you want to end up, then Wharton is not going to offer any advantage over Kellogg. In fact, I'd argue the social scene is better at Kellogg, and their new campus building outshines Huntsman Hall.

Congratulations! Everyone should be so lucky to have such a tough decision to make! If you really felt torn, it wouldn't hurt to talk to Wharton, but I doubt you'll get very far with them. Personally, I'd take the scholarship to Kellogg and run with it. Have a great time!
