Hey Gil, thanks for the list! Lots of great options.


No problem at all - I think when you get the booklet it will get even harder to choose because each page includes a "sell" of the trip which is often quite convincing.

I would first decide what kind of trip you are looking for - action packed or fluffy vacation. That would narrow down many locations for you.

How about something in the middle? Enough time to party, but also some good action packed events?

Quick question for the current students or for anyone else who may know details about F1:

From what I've heard you can only enter on F1 a month before school starts. No earlier than that. For Kellogg, does that mean start of classes (i.e. September 21st) or start of orientation (August 31st) or start of KWEST (August 20th?)?

You can see from last year's website, they rate each trip for level of comfort, nightlife, culture and activity, so you should be able to find trips that meet what you're looking for.

There's also a "family trip" for people with kids, which this year is going to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

From talking with a few of the trip leaders at DAK: choosing trips would happen in May. They wanted to make sure that everyone had equal chance at their top choice, regardless of what round they were admitted. When choosing, you rank your top choices, then they go through and match people to trips. Although some of the popular trips fill up very quickly, just about everyone gets one of their top 3 choices.

Are significant others welcome on any of the KWEST trips or are there only specific trips where you can go with your SO?

Thanks for the information Jerz. So I would guess they would update the KWEST page similar to last year's sometime around the beginning of April so everyone has enough time to research the trips they are interested in before committing to one in May.

JV's are definitely welcome and encouraged to come on KWEST. Oftentimes, couples won't even let the group know which of the two are the student and which is the JV (or if both are students) until Reveal (the night where everyone lets each other know where they're from and what they did).

So I've spent the whole day today stressing about Duke's results only to get a call from Kellogg instead....

I'M IN....HOLY $#%^ ......

Sorry!! pardon my french but I'm ecstatic and over the moon....

I need to calm down and start breathing again

I also can't wait for DAK II and meeting some of the folks on here in person
