Edited to stave further knee-jerk reactions and thread derailment. Not my intention at all, apologies to anyone it bothered, but lighten up a bit.

I've had quite a bit of anxiety this might have bothered someone and only got 4hrs of sleep last night as a result. Please send a private message to this account if it bothered you and I'll explain what I meant and personally apologize. Again, the following responses were not my intention AT ALL.

Seriously? What's wrong with you people? Just because you have anxiety about the admissions process is no reason to start being racist.

honestly ther was nothing SO offensive with his/her comment. It was a frikkin joke so take it in that vein.
We all need to be a little cool about race okay? There's nothing racist in calling a black guy a black or an Indian guy an indian. RELAX

Gosh! guys... a lot of ass-u-me(ing) is going on in this (and many other) threads... let's just stick to facts... pple are stressed out enough (some one was talking about the reduction of life expectancy to which i completely agree) and there is nothing funny about spreading more rumors...

Anyone else out there checking this forum as obsessively as I am?

I was disappointed that nothing happened yesterday and I am now wondering if Ding day will really come. Anyone have any crazy speculations??

This is driving me mad. Happy Tuesday!

Misconstrued or not, it could be seen as offensive. Thanks for the edit and understanding how others might have a negative reaction.

Hey boogs, I got the same problem and It happened that my username was deleted... try going to https://app.applyyourself.com/AYForgott ... licant.asp and enter your pin and your e-mail. When I did that it returned me that my username didn't exist. If this is the case, get in touch with the tech support, they created me a new user but with my application data.

NEED SOME NEWS.. GOSH!!!!

MIT has three essays and a cover letter and wants us to limit our stories to past three years. There resume is a business resume with 55 lines limit.

As a professional who has been out of the undergrad for 5 years, I believe I have the required stories from past three years for the essays and cover letter. However, I believe my achievements and extracurriculars in Undergrad are also a distinguishing factor from a run of the mill applicant. But i cant seem to figure out where to weave those in. Any ideas? How did others in similar boat tackle this?

I had to leave out all the stories from Undergrad, and even a Tsunami reconstruction project I led, cos that was in 2005.
I guess the only option is to keep those for an interview story..cos I heard Sloan wants Interview stories that are completely different from essays. I'm thinking the interviewer won't mind a story that's a little old, providing it's impressive.

You are not limited to 3-years in your cover letter. So if you made a significant impact (more than 3 years ago for example the tsunami relief, then put that in the cover letter).

BTW I submitted my LGO application today. It is a hail mary shot but it is a shot

Good luck to all the R1 candidates!!!
