anyone got an invite to interview yet????

With the exception of Hazay, I think that three weeks is quite early to hear back.

If I had to bet I would say it will take 5 weeks to see the first interview invites, given 1 june as under review date I think it will take another 2 weeks to start rolling out invitations (ie the week starting on July 5th)...

Why is Hazay an exception? just curious. I already feel the waiting has crept me out!

I was just kidding, Hazay said that he will have a very early feedback given that his profile is a no-brainer...

I know waiting game is quite hard, try not to think about it too much...

ughhh i am so pissed. My rec. source is taking forever to start the questions! i got everything except his rec - he is still in "notified" status yet he told me he started already. I am kinda sick of walking to his office again to remind him... been almost 3 weeks now...

The first week after submission seemed long but once you start to deal with other applications (Wharton published terrific new questions and Harvard made a simple but helping twist to their usual essays), you dont think about the waiting game too much.

Maybe they say they start reviewing them upon receipt, but they just print out and wait until August? Adcom are human too - they gotta take some break.

Seeing guys who've already submitted, I guess agony actually starts after submission.

I wonder how advantageous ED is. Looking at last year's thread, the percentage was pretty good, but the profiles of accepted ones are high GMAT high GPA - no funky exception. I've seen unusual profiles in Booth/Kellogg/Wharton but not so in CBS.

Can someone help me on the below:
- How advantageous ED is? Will applying in ED for Sep'11 benifit the applicant?
- I understand that the Deadline for Jan'11 intake is Oct 6th - But considering that its a rolling admission, is it late to apply by June end.

I will be able to build a good application by June end/early July, but am not able to decide between ED Vs Regular. Need your inputs.

I think ED gives you some advantage. I just don't think anyone can quantify it. It boils down to the question whether you really want to go to CBS.

Yes, it should, but since ED is binding, your committment may play bigger than your app's perfection.

I agree you cannot quantify ED advantage, but it is surely way easier to apply succesfully for ED rather than RD, I think that the commitment required and non refundable deposit is quite a barrier for lots of people.

As per deadlines, I think that there are two aspects to be considered.

First of all, movement on J-term is not comparable to ED/RD. J-Term cuts out lots of people and it is actually designed mainly for those who will get back to their former employment. So applying by the end of June should not put you in a doomed position, which is what happened pretty much this year for all the people who applied after Jan 6. I think that the real point with J-term is whether you already have an employment offer after b-school or not.

The other aspect is that they are not giving any more opening dates indications, which tended to concentrate all the submissions in one day. In the last RD they said that they would have started reviewing applications upon Jan 6, so almost everybody applied on Jan 6 (and so you knew exactly that your deadline was Jan 5... ). Given that the indication is gone you don't have concentrations so the sooner you apply the better, but the dispersion of application will be higher.

Bottom line, it all comes down to what you really are going to do after b-school. If it doesn't make a difference for you to start on Sept rather than Jan and you're a career switcher I would surely pick ED, if you will get back to your former empolyment I think you're still on time to apply for J-term.

Will the deposit upon ED acceptance be applied against tuition later?

lawgonebusiness- Yeah, interview invite. BW forum seems so..... chaotic in its layout, fonts, etc. so I don't go there often. But in terms of activity, it seems as active as GC.

Hey lawgonebusiness, can you plz provide a link to the forums? I rarely venture to BW and I agree....its format is so weird.
