Hi all,

I'm actually a re-app and I've already been interviewed during first round (if it makes any difference in the roll call page).

Good luck to all new applicant with waiting game, the first time is a real pain and you won't get used to it but I can tell that the second time around you feel a little less anxious (though being a second timer obviously isn't that cool...)

what will be crazy is when the first person hears their decision back! or are they saying no one will hear back before the october deadline?

Yep, I understood they do only one interview, and since I've already visited campus I'm pretty much done with this application and I'm just waiting for their feedback.

Given that it is a rolling process you should hear back within the 8-12 weeks period (depending on your status - reapp or new app), not clear whether this period starts upon complete submission (ie including recommendations) or since your app is under review.

hazay
Submitted on June 8
Printed on June 9 - Morning
Under Review on June 9 - Afternoon

I've read lots of speculation (here and on b-week) about how long does it usually take to get through the various steps, I think that the printing is so quick because they've received relatively few applications (back in january it took mine 4 days only to print it) while the "under review" depends more on when you complete your submission (it often happens that you complete it before recommenders do actually submit their papers).

Submission is complete with LORs - I would forecast 3 weeks to send an interview invite (my profile is a no-brainer, no one to be compared with, it s a yes/no decision) , and the final acceptation (hopefully) before the end of the World Cup :-D

I definitely hope for you but I am afraid that rather than your profile the timing is determined by a lot of different factors (number of application received, number of application of people with a profile similar to yours, availability of the people reviewing your app etc etc).

Since waiting-game is quite an issue I've asked to all the students and ex-students I met when they actually received their feedback and they all told me between week 11 and 12 from submission for first app and 7-8 for re-app...

Hell no. No time to wait with my fingers crossed. I have 4-5 (maybe even 6) others applications to prepare this summer.

I am just wondering why I would get a Ding from CBS (my best fit) and an offer from other schools... but I guess there are so many variables that I need to re-motivate myself for the rest of the applications...

yeah i am chugging along too... done with most part of app except final rev of essay and rec (which should be done this weekend). At this stage a lot of schools dont have applications out and some dont even have essays out so it kinda sucks.

All,
One question here.
Is it too late to apply for JAN 2011 ?
I see that the deadline is OCT 6th.
I am an international candidate.

P.S: My essays are nearly done. Another week and it will be final, after reviews by 3 different people

good to see a lot of early cbs chatter...

like a few others on this thread, i am also still on the waitlist for the fall intake. i am trying to weigh the pros and cons of pulling my app (thus being early in the J-term field of applicants) vs. waiting it out and potentially applying to J-term later (i.e., july or august).

any thoughts would be really helpful and much appeciated, feel free to send me personal msg

Got my best friend actually at CBS, he was in the same position as yours. He got waitlisted, then dinged, re-applyed for J-term and admitted right away.

Not much of a stats, I know, but I think bottom line is that (i) you can already prepare your re-app and submit it in August in case you get eventually dinged (hope not), (ii) J-Term is not as appealing as full MBA, the activity is not even close to that you saw in RD so applying in the next two months should not make much of a difference, especially if you consider that almost all of the applicants for J-term now were probably dinged on RD (so in a way less sexy than your waitlist profile) and (iii) I believe you do not want to send out a "quit" signal, even if it is made in order to re-apply.

Hope that helped
