Is there any stats (approximate of course) on re-app chances?

I understand that it is somehow appreciated the effort to insist, but I am wondering if there is a real chance to change adcom decision or if it is even harder to get in as a re-app than an applicant...

not a re-applicant myself, but I imagine that if you get in the second time around, you must have made some substantial change in your application unless the previous waitlist or ding resulted from applying too late.

Great point. I think that's definitely true for the better portion of the admitted re-apps but probably not necessarily true for all. At Columbia and the other top 10's, you've got to be worried about your application (which you can change) and how your application stacks up to the other applicants with similar profiles in that given year and round (which you can't). But with an extra year of work experience, each applicant should be better positioned naturally, as long as they're not stuck in a rut career-wise.

Completely agree with you.

Actually I believe that as an International Applicant I applied quite late (RD, and after 6th Jan deadline), but I've got dinged only after interview so in a way they should have liked the profile but classes were already full by the time they had to make a decision.

I made quite a change in my app anyway, but most importantly I applied almost after they opened for this round...

Hi,

Anyone who already applied is under review?

I've been printed and ready to review for a while now which looks strange given the relatively small number of app I believe they have received so far...

I am making significant progress towards a decision to apply for ED!

Anyone has any idea how many candidates typically apply for ED?

Glad to see that many people are applying to CBS in the new application year. :-D

However, the roll call pg in this thread is not being managed at all. In fact, I think the member who originally started this thread misunderstood how threads are started and maintained. As a result, he/she just copied last yr's roll call data in the first post.

NOTE: I decided to update the roll call pg so it is reflected properly for this application yr.

1) Anyone wants to take over to manage the thread for CBS 2011? Let me know. (eminent?) :-D I think I can change the poster of first post in this thread....I am pretty sure I had to do this before....

2) I added only the ones that mentioned specific round that they are applying to in the roll call page. Until a new thread mod for this thread is found, please post in this thread exactly which round you are applying to if you want your name added in the roll call page.

Example:
Quote:
Early Round Applicant here. Please add me to the call page.

Thanks and good luck to all.

Thanks Nink,

For the record I've already been interviewd (and afterward dinged) on RD, actually a re-app under review on June 1st as well.

Finger crossed...
