I think that GMAT Club is a great community but not really representative of the whole CBS applicants population (and overlapping a lot w/h BW), and moreover it is not so unusual not to hear anything in the first month, I mean statistically speaking.

Yet you may be right, we're all speculating, the only thing I knew is that my friends at CBS told me that a couple of guys have already been admitted for J-term but he may be well misinformed or it may even be a particular case.

I don't know, it does not make much sense to me that we're already under review since on RD all the people that applied before Jan 6 got printed and actually under review on jan 6, but again there might be differences between RD, J-term and ED.

To be really honest is not even about getting an early feedback but a positive one, if I get it after aug 16 it will simply mean I'll have a little longer summer holiday... :D

I attended a CBS info session yesterday and the AdCom said the review period can be from 4 to 12 weeks - shorter for ED, longer for RD, and especially longer near due dates when volumes are at peak levels.

I guess even though adcom didn't specify "review start date", it is pretty much same as usual, 8/16 or around that time.

Also for J-Term?

If that's the case, why would they even bother opening the app so early? I think the review date must be earlier than 8/16. It probably just takes longer to get a result.

I recall this being posted elsewhere, but Christina S. (evidently a representative of CBS adcom) posted on BW:

"We will indeed begin reviewing January 2011 and September ED 2011 applications as soon as they are submitted and determined to be complete. We will begin reviewing September Regular Decision 2011 applications in December."

https://forums.businessweek.com/n/pfx/fo ... &tid=57996

Taking her at her word, it sounds like they don't wait until 8/16 or some other date to begin review of ED apps.

ED deadline is oct 6 (as per you have time to submit until oct 6, the sooner the better).

PS: love the comics, great name!

J-term but I guess that it does not make much of a difference, they are reviewing apps as indicated on the web-site.

Right, I am just trying to figure out where my app is at. ED'ers like me are wondering why there has been no invites yet. A J-term invite makes me feel less nervous.

HBS2011.. Can I ask when you submitted your app? Thanks. Also applying Jterm and hoping its more like 8 weeks after its submitted vs 'went under review'..

Thanks

One of my clients received call for interview for his J-Term application. However, it is just the start and you still have a long way to go before losing your hopes.

Submission is complete with LORs - I would forecast 3 weeks to send an interview invite (my profile is a no-brainer, no one to be compared with, it s a yes/no decision) , and the final acceptation (hopefully) before the end of the World Cup :-D

3 weeks indeed :-D

But the interview application website is under maintenance for the last 5-6 hours, I cannot login...

Patience...
