No worries!

By the way, I don't know if you noticed the second part of my post, but I just wanted to give you a heads up that I had problems with the file uploads last night. If you are planning on submitting on Monday, Oct. 10th, I recommend that you give yourself some lead time so that you have some cushioning in case this happens to you as well. Good luck!

I did notice it. Actually, I've shifted my Ross app to R2 as the submission date is v close to Chicago's. However, Ross remains one of top choices and I don't want to hurry in on this one. But thanks for sharing you experience!

Hi Guys,

R1 applicant here. Just a quick question for current students: How important is to drop names in the application (of alumni and current students that you have interacted with). I want to focus on the quality of the interaction rather than wasting words on names/year of graduation etc.

Cheers

When I applied, I did mention a couple of people that I've met while applying. They were very helpful so I added them into my application. When I applied, I believe there was a section in the application itself (not-essay) which you can talk about who you've talked to.

Re: Ross 2012 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
Hi all,
Can anyone please confirm that we do not have to have confirmation of rec letters being submitted before submitting our application?
Both of my rec letters showing in process while I have been told by my recommenders that those have been submitted last week. Did anyone have the issue when the application web did not display correct status of the rec letters?

Thanks

You can submit even if they haven't been completed yet. I submitted my app last week even though neither of my recommenders had started.

One of them just submitted, and I promptly received an email confirmation. I checked the online tool, and it says that the recommendation is complete. The other one will submit sometime tomorrow. The status for this one is still in progress.

Hey, my application reads - Payment accepted, data sent - pending confirmation...
what is this status? I mean, what is pending - whether my application is complete or not? or something else?
Was your application status the same when you submitted?

The status will be 'pending' for a couple of days. After they have processed the payment, the status will change to 'confirmed'. When the status change happens, you will get a notification email, where they state that they will get in touch with you if something is missing. Therefore, you really won't know if everything is complete until they invite you for an interview, email you to ask for the missing document/s, or waitlist/reject you.

I will be applying to Round 2. I will be using my GRE score to apply. Although I have a good GRE score (1500/1600), I am a bit skeptical about how it would go down with the ad com. Can the current Ross students throw some light?
I read somewhere that b-schools were accepting GRE scores to widen the applicants pool and bring more diversity to their programs. I hope I fit the bill :-D

Re: Ross 2012 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
Hi,

I'm toying with the idea whether or not to apply this year.

Questions for you guys:
1. Is Ross young applicant friendly? (2 years of WE at matriculation if admitted)
2. Are Malaysians underrepresented at Ross? (I wonder if that helps/hurts my chances)
3. Is applying in 3rd round as an international student an uphill battle?
4. How is Ross doing in terms of BB IBD/F500 CF placements?

Thanks.
