Congrats! All the best at CBS

I have all but given up hope. Given I applied earlier than almost everyone here, and havent received anything till now, doesn't seem the interview call is coming my way. I know they say it can come 'any time' but the way its rolling, doesnt seem so. More like a wait for one day when all dings are gonna go out :( had my heart set on CBS!

Does Columbia call all their applicants who are accepted vs. sending an updated to check your application?

There haven't been any RD admits yet, but all ED and J-Term admits have gotten the phone call BEFORE the status update e-mail went out. When they called me, they congratulated me and told me that I'd be receiving several e-mails later that day. Right after I got off the phone I received a welcome e-mail, a status update e-mail, & a "decision rendered e-mail."

But if you're dinged or waitlisted you just get a status update e-mail...no phone call.

In the same boat with you buddy. under review 9/21 - nothing yet. No interview call... nothing. It's starting to dawn on me that I won't have the luck others are having on the forum. Oh well... all we can do is hope.

That said, my buddy at CBS said his interview email came on week 6... not that that's comforting in any way, but my guess is that they are holding on to my application to see if there's anyone more suited for the program (my career path and goals are quite off-beat the usual finance/banker types).

I'm wondering if I should just submit my Tuck application now, instead of waiting... Thinking there may be some traffic later on, etc.. Thoughts ?

You could wait until about 3PM. I am thinking if you do not here by then, it will probably be another day anyways for them. I would just get everything ready on the Application so that you can just go in there and submit and pay so you do not have to worry as much about traffic

I just got an email about status update and logged in to check. My status is:
"Your Regular Decision application will be placed under review in December 2011"

I submitted on Oct 5 for regular decision. Anyone else get something like this? Something different?
I can't tell if this is good, neutral, or bad...

As expected, dinged without interview. Got an email saying 'Decision has been rendered on your application' - I never interviewed so that's a straight death knell.

All the best folks - hope your efforts pay off.

AnotherTran, it's just the standard email they send out for regular decision since they have to review all ED first. No worries, my status says the same thing.

Really sorry dude. That sucks big time since I know you had your heart set on CBS. Where else are you applying to now??

Sorry str1der :( those pending on sending other schools... tough call... if it's between a RD1 deadline or not... it's really only $250... if you're talking 1 or 2 schools... no big deal... now if you're app'ing to 6 more schools.. I could see waiting :)

Those applied for RD... expect a lag... I don't think they'll review until they've sorted out all the ED and finalized anything left for J-Term... call this a hunch :)

Either way... I expect this thread to become much busier over the next few weeks... we'll see!
