Based on admitted students website.. kroll doesn't start until like january I think... you can send in your official transcripts now (i would suggest just to get it done) so that when kroll is up.. one less thing to deal with.

As expected, dinged without interview. Got an email saying 'Decision has been rendered on your application' - I never interviewed so that's a straight death knell.

All the best folks - hope your efforts pay off.

Sorry to hear the bad news dude...best of luck with the other schools!

when will the kroll check start?

I think it's made available in January.

You'll soon get a 'welcome' email with a link to an admitted student's website. That site will have a lengthy to-do list...a list that includes information on Kroll.

You might have to pay your deposit before you have complete access to the site. I don't really remember, but you should get that link today or tomorrow regardless.

I'm wondering if I should just submit my Tuck application now, instead of waiting... Thinking there may be some traffic later on, etc.. Thoughts ?

You could wait until about 3PM. I am thinking if you do not here by then, it will probably be another day anyways for them. I would just get everything ready on the Application so that you can just go in there and submit and pay so you do not have to worry as much about traffic

It's queued up now.....

ughhh - horrible news. Sorry man. Good luck on remaining apps.

So I guess we'll know our fate by the email subject:
"Decision rendered" = bad news
"Update" = interview

Now even more stressed.

Congrats svalik! That's a short timeline. When did your app status change to "interview complete"?

For the J-Term Applicants out there, submitted 10/5, received interview 10/10. I started the process late, so the chance to get back into the workforce a year earlier was real attractive.

Are there many other J-Term people who waited to submit the last day. I'm curious as well with Rolling admissions whether there are a lot of people in the same boat scheduling interviews, and if anyone has an idea how many spots are left.

stats: gmat 690, 3 yrs WE by matric., from India. Am sure my recos were solid, essays looked on the stronger side too i would say. GMAT would habeen the major spoilsport.

Planning to apply to kellogg, tuck, but might just do duke instead of tuck and maybe add darden. A little confused all of a sudden - had a very good feeling about columbia, the ding is a major setback for me - truly wanted to go here, not that I missed out on a 'trophy school' or something

Also - I got the ding exactly 1 month (Date wise) after I submitted - maybe a theme there?

I applied to J-Term on 10/4. Went under review the day after, but no update since, so you're sitting pretty from my perspective! Can't help you in terms of how many spots are available or any of that.

Know a guy that got into Wharton on his third try. Know two more that finally got into Stern on their second. So hang in there. A year from now this will not seem like that big of a deal, I promise (I speak from experience-dinged from Stern in 2010). Also, make sure that you contact CBS admissions and get feedback on your application. Good luck buddy.

Quick question for all you folks. CBS is the only school I've come across that asks for us to upload an unofficial gmat score report. Is it against GMAC rules to upload the official (1st page of the Test Taker copy) one? Its just that if I scan the unofficial one (from the test center) it has a list of four other schools I'm reporting to!

I've tried searching the forum - surprised this hasn't come up before - Am I missing something?

thanks.

Send them the one from GMAC... then you'll have to send in the one from them (pay the 28) anyway after admitted.

Applied ED 10/5
Under review 10/12

Phase 1 (hopefully not the last) of the waiting game begins.
Anybody who submitted on 10/5 got an interview call yet?
Does anybody know what date the first interview call went out last year for folks who submitted on the last day? Is it too early for me to sound a bit restless?

Yeah I found this strange as well. The score report I reported didn't even have Columbia on there! I just folded back the lower portion of the report when scanning it.

In fact, in the unofficial report GMAC sends to applicants, it can be seen all the four other schools. So, they are indirectly asking for this information, don't you think so?

Gotcha. I wouldn't get too worried yet, seems like the standard is a week or two, and between ED and J-Term they probably have their hands full. When I spoke to admissions during a visit I was told that a lot of Jterm apps go in late, but I was curious if anyone had an idea of the odds this late.
