Hi elbarto,
I don't think you need to take the GMAT again for a higher AWA score, even for the top programs. Your overall score is high, and you have a good percentile score in both the Verbal and Math sections. AWA scores are a way to measure how well a candidate communicates in written English, and a 5.0 score is strong enough.
I would advise to put your GMAT books aside and focus on ensuring a well-rounded profile with professional and extracurricular activities, and develop a package with essays, resumes and letters that leave no doubt of your communication skills.
We train our clients on business communication skills along with helping produce strong essays. Verbal and written communication skills are going to be important at every step. By training our clients to write and speak well as we work with them on the application, we help them prepare not just for the MBA program but later career as well.
