Re: A burger restaurant employs 3 chefs during the week. These 3 chefs can [#permalink]
Total burgers by 3 chefs:
3 chefs........225 burgers.....5 hours

Total burgers by 3 chefs per hours [225/5 = 45]
3 chefs........45 burgers.......1 hour

Total burgers by 1 chef per hour [45/3 = 15]
1 chef.......15 burgers..........1 hour

Now, 750 burgers were made in 10 hours on the weekend, which means 75/10 = 75 burgers were made per hour.

Let x be the total number of chefs working on the weekend.

Thus, 15x = 75
x = 5

3 were already working with the restaurant. So the restaurant employed 2 more on the weekend.

Re: A burger restaurant employs 3 chefs during the week. These 3 chefs can [#permalink]
A burger restaurant employs 3 chefs during the week. These 3 chefs can make a total of 225 burgers in 5 hours. On the weekends, the restaurant employs more chefs. With all the chefs working on the weekends, 750 burgers can be made in 10 hours. How many more chefs are working on the weekend compared to in the week?

Let x be the no. of chefs working on the weekends
=> 225/(3)(5) = 750/(10)(x)
=>x = 5

No. of additional chefs = 5 - 3=2

Hence D
