A maritime shipping company sends out at least 1 ship ship every day. For a certain seven days, is the total number of the ships departed more than 25?

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
1 day = 20
other 6 day = minimum 6
20+6 = 26 SUFFICIENT
(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.
Ok, let's calculate minimal possible value
1+2+3+4+5+6+7 = 28 SUFFICIENT

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
20+1*6(as one ship departs atleast daily)= 26 sufficient
(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.
1+2+3+4+5+6+7=28 sufficient

Given: >=1 ship ship everyday, not 0

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed. --> correct: one day 20 & if 1 each in each of 6 days, so total = 20 + 6*1 = 26 > 25
(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day. --> correct: each day different number of ships: day-1 to day-7 should be different number from 1 to 7 atleast, so total(atleast) = 1+2+3+...+7 = 7*8/2=28>25

we have 7 days and each day, the number of ships sent daily > 0
the question is : is $$a+b+c+d+e+f+g >25$$ ?

from sentence (1), 20 ships were sent in one day,

which means that the least number of ships sent during the week = $$20+1+1+1+1+1+1 = 26 >25$$ --> sufficient

from sentence (2), a≠b≠c≠d≠e≠f≠g,
so the least number of ships will be $$1+2+3+4+5+6+7 = 28 > 25$$--> sufficient

A maritime shipping company sends out at least 1 ship ship every day. For a certain seven days, is the total number of the ships departed more than 25?

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.

Solution:
According to the first statement, lets assume the following ships being sent:
Day 1=1 ship
Day 2=1 ship
Day 3= 1 ship
Day 4=1 ship
Day 5=1 Ship
Day 6= 1 ship
Day 7 =20 ships

Total =Minimum 26 ships. Hence Sufficient.

According to second statement following can be the possibilities:

As per the information atleast 1 ship is sent out and according to second statement the number of ships which depart are different each day.Hence there can be follwing bare minimum possibilities:

Day 1=1 ship
Day 2=2 ships
Day 3= 3 ships
Day 4= 4 ships
Day 5= 5 ships
Day 6= 6 ships
Day 7= 7 ships
Hence total number of ship for 7 days =28 ships which is more than 25 ships.Hence sufficient.

A maritime shipping company sends out at least 1 ship ship every day. For a certain seven days, is the total number of the ships departed more than 25?

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.

Question Stem Analysis:

We know from the question that there will be at least 1, i.e 1 or more than 1 ship will be sent everyday. we need find out the total number of ships departed in 7 days.

Statement One Alone:

In one of 7 days, 20 ships were sent, Therefore on the rest 6 days at least 1 ship per day will be sent, even if we assume the least number of ship, i.e 1, we get 20+1+1+1+1+1+1 =26 ships.
Hence statement one alone is sufficient to answer the question. Eliminate C & E

Statement two Alone:

The number of ships will be different, lets assume least number of ships starting from day 1, we get 1+2+3+4+5+6+7 = 28 ships for the 7 days.
Hence statement two alone is sufficient.

Given:
The company sends out ATLEAST 1 ship Every Day.
For certain 7 days, did they send a total of more than 25 ships?

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
So, there are other 6 days when at least 1 ship departed on each day. So least number of ships departed over the period of seven days = 20 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 26

Sufficient

(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.
We know at least 1 departed every day.
Now the number of ships departed are different every day. So, least number of ships departed =
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 = 28

Sufficient

A maritime shipping company sends out at least 1 ship ship every day. For a certain seven days, is the total number of the ships departed more than 25?

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
From st1, if one day ships departed is 20 and rest of the six days ships departed is minimum 1*6 (at least 1 ship ship every day), then total number of the ships departed = 20+6=26 > 25
Sufficient

(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.
From st2, each day the number of ships departed is different, the minimum values on day1 is 1(at least 1 ship ship every day), next day 2, next day 3 and so on...
Then total number of the ships departed = 1+2+3+4+5+6+7=28 > 25
Sufficient

A maritime shipping company sends out at least 1 ship every day. For a certain seven days, is the total number of the ships departed more than 25?

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.

Say Monday 20 ships departed ,now since at least a ship depart everyday;the other 6 days can have one ship departed each day
Total = 20+1(6) =26 >25

Now any number greater than one will even be greater than 25
.: sufficient

(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.

Can be any number departed each day. Thus 50 ships on Sunday ,1 each on the other 6days
Totaling 56 >25
Or
2ships departed on Sunday and 1ship each on the other 6days
Totaling 8<25 (not sufficient)

A maritime shipping company sends out at least 1 ship ship every day. For a certain seven days, is the total number of the ships departed more than 25?

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.

For a random 7 seven days if one of the days 20 ships were departed, and remaining 6 days, even if only 1 ship is departed, still total count will be 26. Hence statement 1 is SUFFICIENT.

(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.

Even if we take minimum, we will have
Day 1 - 1
Day 2 - 2
..
..
Day 7 - 7
Total - 28.
Hence statement 2 is also SUFFICIENT. Answer - D.

We need to check the minimum possible to see if at least 25 are sent for a period of 7 days.

A: Day 1- 20 ships
The minimum for this answer would be that for the rest of the days, only one ship is sent. This means that at the very least, the company would have sent out 26 ships
Sufficient

B. With a minimum of 1 ship sent out, the minimum for this answer would be that each day, the company sent out one more ship than before. Summing up 7+6+5+4+3+2+1 = 26.
Sufficient

1) if at least 1 ship departed per day and on a certain day a total of 20 ships departed then
20 in Monday +6 ships from tuesday-sunday = 26 total ships. Statement 1 is sufficient.

2) clearly insufficient.

Statement 1
Number of ships departed on one of the seven days= 20
Minimum number of ships departed on rest of the six days= 1+1+1+1+1+1=6 {A maritime shipping company sends out at least 1 ship ship every day}

Hence minimum number of ship departed in seven days= 20+6=26>25

Sufficient

Statement 2
The numbers of ships departed are different each day.
Hence minimum number of ships departed in seven days= 1+2+3+4+5+6+7= 7*8/2=28>25

Sufficient

so more than 25 means min 26 ships. At least 1 ship everyday.
Now !. it says 20 on one day , so if you consider rest 6 days to be the least no of ships, it will be 6*1=6, total no of ships =20+6 =26 so I is sufficient
now 2.
All days different but we also need to follow minimum 1 ship everyday.
So if you consider the minimum possible case it will be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 ships in the 7 days.total count =28 more than 25 so 2 is also sufficient.

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.

Statement 1:
If on 1 day, 20 ships departed, on the rest 6 days minimum 6 ships must have departed. ( Information provided that at least one ship departs on a single day)
20 + 6 = 26 is the minimum number of ships departed. SUFF

Statement 2:
For 7 days ships departed will be,
1 +2 +3+4+5+ 6+7
which is clearly greater than 25. SUFF

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.

statement 1: atleast one ship a day means atleast 7 ships in 7 days.
one day it took 20 ships so rest 6 days he will have atleast 6 more ships. total = 26

Hence sufficient

Statement 2: Each day have different no. of ships and no. can be only integer with minimum value as 1.
so in worst case the 7 day ships are : 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 .
total is 28

Hence sufficient.

Both statements are individually capable of finding the solution. Hence answer is D

A maritime shipping company sends out at least 1 ship ship every day. For a certain seven days, is the total number of the ships departed more than 25?

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed - If on day one, 20 ships departed, then on other 6 days at LEAST one more departed (6*1). Overall, in a week at least 26 ships or more than 25 ships departed. This answers YES to question posed in stem. Statement 1 is sufficient
(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day - Since minimum number of ships departed is 1 and all other 6 numbers are different, we can take least values such as 2(for second day), 3 (for third day)..........7(for seventh day). So, we have 1+2+3+4+5+6+7=28, the least number of ships is 28, also greater than 25 ships. This one also answers YES to question in stem. Thus, statement 2 is also sufficient

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.

Stmt 1: As 20 ships departed in one of the seven days, the other 6 days must have at least 1 ships departed. so, sufficient. Eliminate B, C, and E.

Stmt 2: As number of ships departed are different each day, minimum departed ships will be 1+2+3+4+5+6+7 > 25. so, sufficient.
the correct answer choice is (D)

Minimum ship - 1 ship everyday
Minimum total no of ships for seven days = 7
Is Max no of ships > 25 ?

(1) In one of the seven days, 20 ships departed.
one day = 20
rest all days = minimum = 1 = 6 days (as given)
20+6 = 26 ..sufficient

(2) The numbers of ships departed are different each day.
so each day no is different and greater than 1
if have to assume minimum ships meeting above criteria then can list out no of ships as
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 - from day 1 to day 7 - total is >25 and hence sufficient to answer
