Hi
IMO it should be C.
We need to present a fact that makes the conclusion more realistic.
Conclusion:Adv. be discontinued because it is misleading.
Misleading means it is presenting a wrong info to the viewers. Check option E: It just provides info about the funding of the mouthwash scientist's , it does not says anything about why the adv. is misleading. It speculates that since the scientists received funding from mouthwash company , so they must be presenting incorrect data. But we need the incorrect data not that why the scientist presented that incorrect data.

Consider kudos if my post helps!!!

Incorrect data and extra data both not in the topic. So why choose c over e?

On strengthen weaken question ..there is no problem to select an answer that has etre info, but yes incorrect info..cannot be the part of the correct answer. Extra info must be part of answers to strengthen weaken questions.

IMO c... Even i was confused between c and e; and chose E... but later i realized that E is wrong because it is not stated that Dentist manipulated the data. It is in our mind, based on real life examples, that ppl normally try to help the main benefactor.

Request you to not to post answers/queries/views in question window. This prevents us to analyze the question. The whole purpose of GMAT Club forums is wasted doing so.

Once again users placing answers on the body of questions if someone can not follow these simple instructions I wonder if he or she is fit for gmat testing...
