Has anyone scored 800 in gmat?

Interesting !!

Just a thought - May be those scoring 800 get a little over-confident about getting the admit and hence neglect other aspects of application (like essays ).

That actually made me laugh.

It is crazy when someone is so good at something but ends up not doing it!

after my GMAT, i did call up my friends to say that I got a 800, and that I was the third person ever to get it.

Makes for a good story. Everyone should try it :d

I don't think anyone on GMATClub has scored 800 -- which is truly surprising!

What is the incentive anyone might have to really push a 770 or 780 score to 800 ? From all I have read so far, it doesnt seem to make a huge different to your admit once you are about 750 or above.

If lets say tomorrow, GMAC said anyone getting 790-800 gets 100% refund of test fee, I would imagine that number of 800 scorers will go up. Everything needs the right incentive in my opinion.

The GMAT doesn't really have much to do with bschool past admissions.

Well, I was a bit disappointed when I got 770, because on each test I had been doing one week prior to exam date, I got scores of 780 and above (GMAT Prep and MGMAT CATs)... And I did awesome job of panicking and messing up the beginning of quant session on the test day

IMO it's insane to try to push up to 800 - 'cause nobody really needs it

There is one guy here on GMATClub, who tries to hunt down the perfect score each year; he gets 790 with perfect consistency and I wish him all the luck in his pursuit. But, he's GMAT instructor and it's kind of his job.

For the others, I believe there are more important things to do - polishing essays, for instance

Not sure if OP is looking for someone who scored 800 in general or on this forum.

for the former, GMAT score is percentile, not absolute score. In order for me to have gotten my score (which is below 800), there must be somebody who scored 800.

for the latter, my friend from college got 800.

I think one reason 800ers may be rejected is the probable arrogance they may show when applying. One of my friends got a simple 700 and wrote to stanford "Waive the application fee or I won't apply". CRAZY
