I picked E. Was tempted to pick B as well. But after rereading many times, i say that D is the one. Good question nevertheless.

To create a gainful hobby it is necessary for students to participate in sports. Because those who did not take part sports do not have gainful hobby.

i cannot understand why D is right!!!!!!!!!
Here why i eliminated. this statement is actually weaken the argument, but the word many is red flag for me How many many ??? two, three or 4 millions we don't know right ??? so it is wrong because we need to assume that it is a significant number

Official Explanation

You are required to point to the statement that 'most weakens' the critics` contention. The essence of their claim is that students who are non-athletic can spend their time better pursuing a productive hobby. But if it is true that many such students will not have such a hobby to pursue, the critics` claim is weakened. Option D is thus the best answer, as it directly attacks the contention of the critics. Of the other statements, options B and E also go against the critics, but it is option D that most weakens their claim.

Hence (D) is the correct answer.
