Re: New to GMAT Club - Post Your Questions Here [#permalink]
I have a first GMAT test date in early October.

I started "studying" in September 2022 pretty much just cranking out all the OG Verbal problems (RC+CR+SC with heavy emphasis on SC) and took a long break until mid July 2023 to resume studying in earnest. I purchased ManhattanPrep's coursework and went over it in two months. I started with 640 on MPrep CAT 1 - 640 (42Q35V) and my latest two MPrep CATs are 680 (46Q36V) and 690 (41Q42V). My only GMAC CAT was 710 (46Q42V).

I am a bit worried about the cessation of the GMAT Classic in favor of GMAT Focus (I'd prefer not to be a guinea pig for new test design). I have no expectations for score for my first attempt, but I'd like to end up with a 730+ before the cessation. Do y'all think its doable? I'm cracking out the hours recently (maybe 5-10hrs) genuine study all day weekdays and weekends for 1 week with the test about 16 days out. Do you think this is a lost cause before GMAT Classic disappears?

hello, just joined and ive been recommended to use the qbank for practice selecting questions by difficulty and source. When i look at the qbank i can only select by difficulty within each section. Anyone know how to add the feature to select questions based on the source as well?

The best solution I have is to order the choices by source and then scroll and select only questions from the source you prefer.

So, Manhattan would be better for verbal than TTP?

No, you can use TTP for both quant & verbal. I am using it for both. Just stick to one course only.

Can it be completed in 1 month? I am thinking opting for 4 month option.
Which one have you purchased?

TTP is a quite comprehensive course. I am using it from quite a while. Right now, I have purchased 4 months that is the dedicated plan. They are also running discounts where you will get extra 15% off on purchase of Gmat plans. Just check the TTP website. You can also have an access of the whole TTP course just by paying $1. Good Luck!

Both are excellent courses. Manhattan Prep has the best non-official mocks, whereas TTP offers a comprehensive course that will take you from A to Z.
TTP cannot and should not be completed in a month

Hey, all after my graduation I have been home tutoring kids in my village ( for 3 years) I didn’t consider this as a business or a startup I always liked teaching so after graduation I decided to give it a try and since it was home tuition there are no documents to show it as a proof for adcom. Most of my student’s parents are farmers and other low-income labourers in India they do not have any sort of education so they also can’t provide any reference letter for my work

Is there any other way to show this work experience?

After that, I worked in a bank for 2.5 years(promoted to deputy manager) and currently I’m working for the Indian government

I am not so sure but I guess you can represent this experience under volunleer experience. I recommend you to consult an admission consultant for a better adivce.

Hi Dardi!

The GMAT Focus Edition will be released on November 7th of this year. For now, all we have are the mock tests GMAC has released on their website - I’ve yet to attempt these myself so I can’t help there. Hopefully someone who’s taken the mocks can drop their insights.

All the best for your prep! My exam’s booked for December too ^^

Thanks,
Sim
