Usually recommender issues aren't app-killers. Let the school know that your recommender was surprisingly out of pocket, and ask if it's okay to have a small delay and then find him!!!

Got the call (actually, a voicemail at 12:20 p.m. and then a call back) today! My timeline:

Application Submitted: 11/24
Invited to Interview: 12/19
Interviewed: 1/3
Feedback Submitted: 1/4
Acceptance Call: 1/9

I have a dilemma: I'm thinking applying but I suspect I'm too late in the game. How much class do you think is filled already?

Any input would be much appreciated.

I e-mailed the Admissions Office like it recommends after you submit. I provided my app # and Emily kindly sent an e-mail directly to my recommender with a link (my company's security blocks emails from CBS's online system). He opened the link and submitted. I would recommend a similar approach.

From what I understand, there are different fellowships in different amounts. I might be wrong on that though. If there are current CBS students or CBS alums who know more about it, I'd trust their answers before I'd trust mine. haha.

There are a number of different fellowships, some are company sponsored, some by individuals, organizations etc. Columbia's website mentions there a fellowships that cover up to your full amount of tuition which would be quite generous. Most I believe are in the few thousand dollar range. I know of at least one person this year who received $30,000 with his acceptance letter.

hope it's not too late.
the same thing happened to me and i had to call the admission office so they could send the invite link from one of their personal email accounts instead of an auto-generated email which was blocked by some corporate IT system. you can try using your recommender's personal email (gmail, etc.) as well.

My interview report was submitted on Dec. 19th and I still haven't been notified of a decision. I see that several people who interviewed last week already heard from them... Anybody else waiting this long for a decision after being interviewed?

Not sure how much of the class is already filled, but I can tell you I'm planning to submit at the end of the month. Most schools' round 2 deadlines are this month so I'd like to believe it's like submitting for R2.
