Wow! Congrats on those who got an invitation.

There seems to be no pattern here for Stanford.

Let's hope and pray for an invite then. *finger cross*

Invite came by email with instructions on how to contact my interviewer and schedule the interview. The email also explicitly stated that the timing of invitations only reflects "the order in which your application was reviewed," nothing more.

To those who were invited to interview, when did your application status change to "under review?" Congratulations! :)

I assume that it is not really connected. My application is "under review" for at least one week already, maybe more (did not check the applyonline website every day). And no invitation yet. Waiting in a total awe. =)

I'm based in Australiasia and I think all the interview invites are going to come out while I'm sleeping.

So. BASICALLY. Not going to sleep for a month.

maybe i'm just venting here, but why do business schools make the waiting process so painful? I know that the answer is because they can...but why not make the experience a little more applicant friendly? I know they are trying..however, we are all essentially paying (~$250 USD) to have our applications reviewed so I think that we should at least get a little feedback..or maybe the business school can give the option to pay an additional $50 or so to get a more thorough explanation/application review for those who get dinged or waitlisted.

I had a long talk with an adcom at the GSB last year and she had a good response that I believed. She said they used to give feedback, but then people would "fix" all the feedback items, reapply, not get in again, and be even more upset. Seems like a reasonable explanation to me.

As a general point to try and ease tensions, interview invites here trickle out slowly and unpredictably. Last year (I'm a reapplicant), I had totally given up by mid-November and was gallivanting around in a camper van when my blackberry beeped. Super casual email from an adcom person inviting me to interview. Not that it helps, but if you are going to get interviewed it may come tomorrow or in three weeks.

I'm "under review" but I don't think that it means anything much.

Until 11/26, I will wake up every morning looking at my phone to see whether I received an invite during the night...
Just like when I used to expect gifts from Santa when I woke up on Xmas day :-P

Haha excellent comparison. I'm also "under review" but am not putting any weight to it, especially because I have no idea when my application status changed. My guess is to not read too much into it, and like someone said before, it's probably reflective of when the application was received.

i think the commonality is consulting, not high GMAT haha. but it's obviously useless to speculate with such a low sample.

I'll expand the sample by 50%: my coworker got an invite yesterday. He is not a consultant and has an acceptable (but not high) GMAT score.
