maybe i'm just venting here, but why do business schools make the waiting process so painful? I know that the answer is because they can...but why not make the experience a little more applicant friendly? I know they are trying..however, we are all essentially paying (~$250 USD) to have our applications reviewed so I think that we should at least get a little feedback..or maybe the business school can give the option to pay an additional $50 or so to get a more thorough explanation/application review for those who get dinged or waitlisted.
I had a long talk with an adcom at the GSB last year and she had a good response that I believed. She said they used to give feedback, but then people would "fix" all the feedback items, reapply, not get in again, and be even more upset. Seems like a reasonable explanation to me.
As a general point to try and ease tensions, interview invites here trickle out slowly and unpredictably. Last year (I'm a reapplicant), I had totally given up by mid-November and was gallivanting around in a camper van when my blackberry beeped. Super casual email from an adcom person inviting me to interview. Not that it helps, but if you are going to get interviewed it may come tomorrow or in three weeks.
