Don't think the date of submission matters. One of them submitted a week in advance. Two of them submitted a few hours before the deadline.

Agree. Out of the ~15 GSB applicants I know, the only one to receive an interview invite so far was also the last one to submit his application (he went right up against the deadline).

Question: for those that have received GSB invites (or know others that have) --- how long was your status in "Under Review" prior to getting the invite?

In my opinion, it is futile to second guess Admission Committee and their method of prioritizing applications. Stanford has given us a window of interview invites this year. We should patiently wait for that email to come by that date. If it does not, we need to move on. They have clearly said that they check the applications randomly. There is no point guessing when they will come to a particular application among more than 4000 they may have received.

No offense meant to anyone.

No, but not sure if it is location based. There are invites in Bangalore, Chennai, Jaipur etc.

If my application says "under review" for days and I don't get an invite, does that mean they've viewed my application and moved on already?

Yeah that's what I'm also wondering... Maybe someone here can help with this one, but my guess is peopIe just don't know and we're trying to read into something that may not mean too much. wish we could know sooner!

What i saw from Stanford site (from 2012)

"MYTH 2: After I submit my application, I will receive regular updates on my status throughout the application process.
THE TRUTH: Unfortunately, we do not have the staff to update each applicant's status for every step in the process. When you submit your application via Hobson's ApplyYourself, you will receive an immediate message thanking you for your submission. Your application status in Hobson's ApplyYourself shows as "Submitted." Approximately two weeks after the application deadline, all applications are updated to "Your application is currently under review." This line will appear under the "Submission Status: Submitted" line. (Note that all applications are reviewed even if they are missing documents like recommendations. We will evaluate your application and make a decision based on the application documents that you submitted.) You will be contacted via email by our office if you are invited to interview; your application status will remain "Under Review." On the decision notification date, you will receive an email that the decision on your application has been posted. You will be directed to log into your Hobson's ApplyYourself account, where you will see your decision letter."

I think everyones status changed at about the same time to under review. I dont think it means anything if you havent heard yet - it's only been 5 days out of a month long notification window......This is def stressful process but I wouldnt read too much into anything until you hear something for sure.
