I could use some opinions here on my chances...

I'm one of those who is 50/50 on whether or not I can get in. I have a 2.85 GPA from UCSD in Biomedical Engineering (the advanced mathematics based classes were the ones that killed me the most) and have a 710 GMAT, 42 V 47 Q. Also, 3+ years of work experience at two well-known biotech companies in San Diego. The catch though, is that I have been unemployed for the past 5 months. I used the optional essay to explain why I am unemployed and why I think it is taking so long to find a new job (I turned down 2 low-ball offers, and since have not been offered anything else). And I mentioned that I am now open to almost anything regardless of salary and have recently been getting more interviews, so I am confident I will be fully employed well before fall '14. How do you guys think my chances are?

FYI, after logging in to the application portal, my text has been updated from simply stating, "Submitted" to include:

YOUR FEMBA APPLICATION IS COMPLETE AND IS BEING REVIEWED BY OUR ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE.

My recommendations have not been submitted yet. Is your application reviewed only after submitting everything?

Yeah, one of the adcom people at an info session told me that the system will allow you to submit even if not 100% of the items are complete but as long as you pay and submit by your round's deadline, you will be part of that round. They will contact you if something is missing/wrong but you are always better off contacting them directly just to make sure IMO.

Was in the first group of Super Saturday interviews. I thought the interview went really well. Glad to have interviewed with an alumni from another entertainment company. I was also very impressed with the MBA tour and panel after the end of the interviews. I have one more event to impress: Embracing Diversity 2013. Good luck to all and hopefully your interview experience was just as good as mine.

I just got home from my interview as well. Dylan Stafford dropped by while we were waiting for our interviewers to give us more info on the process: interview sheet will be uploaded as part of the application, alumni will read it cover to cover, adcom will read it, then faculty will read it. Each step will have yay, nay or waitlist and then it's decision time!

Got an email notification a few minutes ago that my application status is available (basically confirming that my application is complete). I'm guessing that they uploaded the feedback from the Super Saturday interview to my application.

was interviewed on 11/2, and I think the interview went well. Now the waiting game begins! Good luck all round 1 applicants!

The stats just came out for last year's accepted class on Businessweek.com

65% acceptance rate and a drop in average GMAT. FYI, Marshall MBA.PM had an acceptance rate above 80%.

Took the gmat today and will be submitting within the next week or so. I have everything else buttoned up but was waiting to take the test. Good luck to all.

anybody got updates from the admission office? i'm a bit anxious as 12/20 is getting close.

Based on the past few years, updates usually start going out the week before the deadline. I know for a fact, based on my discussions with the Ad Com during the Embracing Diversity Weekend, only 40 applications out of 100 or so were finalized (dinged, waitlisted, admitted) the week before Thanksgiving.
