Hi All,
Im a round 2 FEMBA applicant now patiently waiting for decisions to come out in March. Nothing more fun than joining in with the rest of y'all trying to pass the time.

I just signed up today but I submitted my app Jan 7th with a 650gmat and 2.9 gpa. IT Technical Projects Manager here in Los Angeles and own two retail websites, www.xenonsupply.com and www.precisionled.com.

...also just joined up on the USC MBA.PM board as i submitted that app on Monday.

Hello,

I am in the process of putting together my application for the FEMBA program and I had a question about the length of the application essays. The instructions state that each essay should be double spaced, 12 pt. font and no more than 1 page. Does this mean 1 side of 1 page? Isn't that on the shorter side of things?

Current FEMBA here. They mean 1 side of 1 page. You are submitting this digitally so a page is a page. From what I have heard (not from Anderson but from admissions offices in general), the reason for the 1 page limit is two fold. First, adcoms have a lot of applications to wade through. This is compounded by the fact that multiple people read each essay. Second, the ability to condense your thoughts and ideas into a short, concise format is itself a business skill. An executive summary is short for a reason. Best of luck on your applications!

It means that they have already reviewed your application and have made a decision. Mine is still under review as of now.

I know they were meeting with faculty this week to go over applications. Maybe they are done.

I have no idea when they will start letting people know. Did the "Your FEMBA application is complete and is being reviewed by our admissions committee." message disappear?

Anyone else get any updates?

I emailed admissions and they said that during the application process it would change back. I don't think it's any sort of indicator. The review for each application is random correct?

Anyway, I think application review is only random to a point, but it would be totally dependent on the school. For example, maybe some admission teams do initial chops and send certain people to certain piles based on GMAT, GPA, or a variety of other factors.

I would lean towards the notion that your app has been reviewed and a decision has most likely been made...but that's purely speculative based on past FEMBA threads on here. As to the waiting game we all are playing now, February is a short month!
