The drop in applications year over year was definitely surprising. You have to assume the acceptance rate is at least 60% into this program. Nonetheless, the program is still great and this will be my "safe" school.

I agree that it's still a great program. I just feel that the staff hasn't been on top of updating information for the PM program - no information sessions, essay prompts listed late, conflicting information due to late updates (ex. number of letter of recommendations was changed from 2 to 1), etc. Combine that w/ the downward trend and I'd be surprised to NOT see some shake-up in administration - the USC brand is taking a hit from this in my opinion.

I definitely agree with you. Comparing the UCLA FEMBA site to the USC MBA.PM is like comparing apples to oranges. Do you think there would be an issue with 2 recommendations? I set up my recommenders prior to the late application changes.

I went to a UCLA info session recently and Lindsay Haselton said that you *could* send in a 2nd LoR because the system will allow you to but the adcom will only look at one. If they pick the weaker one, it's a disadvantage (so basically not worth it to submit more than 1). I'm assuming it would be similar for USC but not sure because everyone would just send 2+ recs to boost their profile.

I believe FEMBA requires two letters of recommendations. Are you referring to UCLA's full time program?

Yeah, Lindsay is an associate director for the UCLA FT program. I'm assuming that if we send in more than 1 LoR that it's unlikely they'd read both since the instructions are to just send 1 for the PM program.

I just got an email inviting me to an interview, did anyone else get one? I was under the impression that they didn't conduct very many interviews, if any, for the MBA.PM program.

Nice! I was under that assumption as well. I have not received an invite to interview.

Just an FYI for applicants this year. They are reducing the amount of cores from 4 (2 cores in LA, 1 in OC, 1 on Saturday) to 3 ( LA/OC/Sat). There will be interviews for the applicants and also scholarship opportunities for incoming PM students.

I received a phone call on Tuesday of this last week, was at work so couldn't pick it up , but the adcom left me a message saying I was admitted. I applied early to mid October, so the rest of you should be getting your notifications soon.

Good luck.

So looks like it took just under two months for most people to hear a response? Getting ready to submit very soon, and was trying to figure out when I may hear back. Unfortunately I have the holidays to contend with which will slow things down.
