Do not give up.
I have had your situation.
It is the same with me, you need to start from scratch and in needed to find out where do you lack conceptual understanding. I am on the same boat as you are yet i haven't given up.
I have been working on GMAT since Dec 15 2016 no - stop. The wall that i am working against is much higher than yours.
I've not given up and will not give up. You quant score can go up to the range of 48-50, given you practice and is willing to put the works that are needed.
Averaging 44-46 means that you definitely have the concept in place the enough practice is needed.
I am dealing with Verbal and i hope i could raise my score enough to pass 700+.
Needed we can have a chat and see if we can help each other.
All the best

I'm stuck in the same predicament.

However, I have no option but back myself and have trust in my inner judgement. Wish I could be so philosophical when I'm knee deep in s#it.

My only strategy henceforth is to run towards the flame I.e all the stuff that makes me uncomfortable and at least get sort of familiar with the same without throwing up on test day.

For example, CR Bold Face + Probability + Combinatorics + RC etc

Be comfortable being uncomfortable. And don't burn out.

Believe the process

Thanks for the replies guys. Really appreciate it.

Summarising what you've said, the only way to get better is by going through everything again and finding topics that I'm not so comfortable with?

I feel strengthening your strengths is a lost cause beyond a certain point.

For instance,
I have Magoosh and I filter only the very hard problems and take them all at once topic wise while studying the detailed explanation until I understand beyond a shadow of a doubt.

And practice all the familiar tooics at the end of your study time for the day so you can devote much of your time improving on areas that will have a better return on time invested.

Also cut the distraction out. No https://gmatclub.com/chat, Facebook or IG.

But take everything anyone's says with a grain of salt.

And enjoy the grind. Don't worry about it that much.
