Hmmm, I did not waive my rights for any of the schools I applied. This never occurs to me to be an issue... :( :( :(

I would disagree with the person who said this will harm your chances. It is one aspect of the application. It may make the ad com more suspicious if your recs and their authenticity so they may give them a bit more scrutiny but it does not mean that you won't get an interview.
