Though the term "destination" has become popular in the last few years, in practice it is when one is proceeding to with one's plans.

A. it is when one is proceeding to
B. it is when one proceeds to
C. it is proceeding to
D. it refers to a direction to proceed to
E. it is in reference to proceeding

answer is Straight D as a term can refer or explains but not with is or was verbs can be used.

I am confused in between D and E. Why is D preferred over E?

Hi Prateek176,

In my opinion, this is a very poorly written question, and not very GMAT-like. I wouldn't recommend spending too much time on this one.

Hi all, E is wrong because to proceeding is unidiomatic. It should be written as to proceed.
