Hussain you seem to have improved from Q43 to Q48 in
MGMAT test and even in actual test as well. What is that you did for such a drasting improvement in the score in short span of time. I am asking this question because I am currently hovering at score of Q43 in
MGMAT so would like to hear from you how I can improve on it.
One more thing how much importance I should give to topics like Probabilty Combinatics based on your actual GMAT experience. Did you find many questions on these topics.
Hi, Thanks for your comments.
I think
MGMAT Q section is a bit tough in comparison to the real gmat Q stuff. So if you are doing a 43 in
MGMAT it means you can reach Q46-47 in real test. Alot depends on the practice too. What I did was a lot of CAT practice, thus enabling myself to be used to 75 minutes game plan. Two points are critical in Q section of GMAT
-Dont panic if you get some hard questions
-Dont spend above 3 minutes on a single problem. If you feel you know the methodology but unable to solve the question in 3 minutes, then better leave that. Believe me 1 or 2 wrong questions in Q doesnt make much difference, unlike the ones in Verbal. So cutting short, I think you need to take a gmat prep test to know your real Q abilities.
I tried initially to learn probability concepts, but then adapted a clear strategy. I spent hardly a minute & a half on prob, comb questions by making best possible guess
& then moved forward. I think that worked for me. It allowed me some extra time to spend & thus my nerves stayed calm. I saw hardly 2 questions related to this topic in real gmat.
Best of luck for your endavour & let us know if we can be of any help.
