Hey,

I clearly remember pressing the "Next" button and submitting the essay. I submitted almost ~2 minutes before the time expired so there is little chance that time ran out before it was actually submitted.

Hi All,

Just wanted to update the forum. My AWA score is now available, less than 24 hours after I contacted GMAC customer care. :)

I would suggest everyone else facing this issue to also reach out to GMAC (if not done already).

Thank you so much. That’s fantastic news to hear. Did they provide any more detailed explanation or reasons for messing with our minds? 😂

An update from me as well: my AWA score is also available (and it's a 6 :dazed :inlove: ). Glad this rollercoaster is finally over. I also didn't hear back from GMAC customer service either, but my score just updated on its own. They should really wait a little longer to release everything together so they don't give so many people heart attacks....

I wrote on 17th July. Got zero in AWA when contacted GMAC they gave me 4 which I know is less, as per my capability. I want to reevaluate but have a fear if there is a glitch and they don't have my essay they may give me 4 or less. 4 is fine but less than 4 will be a problem then.

Hi Maverick4298,

I'm not sure that I understand your logic. If GMAC already gave you a 4 on your AWA, then the company must have a copy of your essay on file, correct?

That said, I did have a private student whose AWA score (temporarily!) went from 4.5 to zero when they requested a rescore, thus delaying their MBA application process, so your fear is not entirely unfounded.

Hi SMTV,

Thanks for the feedback, and good luck retrieving the AWA score you deserve.

Who knows if there was a glitch and essay wasnt saved in there DB. They just gave 4?
Chances are low but most people got 4 post this issue.

May be over thinking but i have decided to settle with 4.

So you're suggesting that if GMAC loses your AWA essay, then the company just automatically gives you a score of 4/6?

I suppose anything is possible, but that seems highly unlikely to me. The more likely explanation is that GMAC was able to recover your essay.

Could be but as I said, I am fine with 4/6 and want to focus on applications :)
I appreciate your inputs. Cheers!
