Thank you for keeping this thread alive. You have a outstanding GMAT but wondering why you choosing a MiF path to get in to finance when you already pursuing CFA. I believe Masters are suitable to early career professionals. How much work experience you have?

Still not many brave hearts out there considering US MBA 2019 intake? Have Indians also significantly contributed to the decline in US MBA Applications this season?

I guess that is true. But, I also think there are more Indian applicants on this site who haven't posted here. :)

Hey,

Just found this thread. Nice initiative indeed. I've prepared a tool to help you guys search and compare business schools from around the world. You can compare GMAT score, tuition fee, all rankings, etc in one place. You can also see their deadlines and essay questions. Here's the link:

https://edusimplified.com/mba-matrix/

Happy searching!

I have around 3 months of Full-time Experience and 6 months Internship, passed out this year. It will give me chance to get good jobs in finance, transitioning from Tech.

Hey DIII,

You can do a lot of other amazing things in life than getting into a MiF just to prepare for an M7 in the future :)

If you are keen on getting into a GREAT MBA program, you can directly apply in 4 years from now. In the meanwhile, build a strong career path, travel, meet interesting people, gain international exposure, build a strong interest in extracurricular activities( if you do not have any yet), and enjoy your life. Think about it this way- You want to study for 1 to 2 years right now so that you profile can become more ACCEPTABLE for a TWO year long study in the future? Narenn is right in suggesting that you can leverage your CFA to crack a career in Finance right now.

It is very common for all of us in India to jump from one academic institution to another one, and study back to back. It will not have as much incremental value as you currently imagine.

You have a great GMAT Score, and I hope there is no burning desire to use it anywhere before the expiry date. My personal suggestion- Do not fall into this trap.

However, if you are not pursuing masters in finance to open the MBA gates, and have genuine handicaps that you want to work on, go for it. That should be the only reason to pursue this course.

Hope this helps!

I have around 3 months of Full-time Experience and 6 months Internship, passed out this year. I think this path is the best way for me to secure an awesome MBA in the future being in the Indian IT Male demographic. It will also give me chance to get good jobs in finance, transitioning from Tech.

This a long term plan. Too early to hedge a career with two back to back degrees in a pre-recession period. Why only M7 schools and why not the 7 + 1th school? This is a mythological conspiracy that feeds the frenzy of third world MBA aspirants. There are innuendos from this years's decreasing scores and some dissatisfaction about the financial aid info that leaked out of stanford, which will lead to more progressive adcoms.
B-Schools started increasingly looking at the diversity of applicants from disadvantaged background, who made a difference with their limited resource of time and opportunity they had.
If you have the luxury of time, pursue an impactful career with your CS degree, have a six pack abs and find a partner. Don't forget to buy the dollars / Pounds right now for your college fees and the necessary Permanent residencies in these countries.
