Hi, from what I understand, question 2 asks you to list the concrete STEPS which you will take pro-actively during your studies at McGill in order to achieve your career goal, while question 3 asks you to describe the RESOURCES you will be taking advantage of so that you could fulfill your career aspiration.

Just a slight difference as far as I understand.

Does that make sense?

Thank you for your instant reply! :)

So, would it mean that in question 2, I should address it generally without mentioning McGill's resources in it. E.g. join consulting club

And in Question 3, same things as above, just more specific to McGill's resources? E.g. Join McGill management Consulting club

And do I need to mentioned Long term and Short term goals in both, because would not be able to connect the dots.

What do you thing would be the right approach?

I think addressing the question generally is not an ideal approach, since they have pointed out that one of the biggest reasons of rejection is not "customizing".
My principle is never let one thing appear twice in an essay (for example mention management consulting club in both the 2nd and 3rd questions), as long as you avoid that i think it would be fine. Also management consulting club itself is very general, since each school has one.

Hi Guys,

This might have a simple answer, but I am not able to figure out where is the Essays section or what is the procedure to apply? I selected:
1. 'Degree...',
2. Fall 2019 intake
3. Department: Management
4. Program: MBA 2 Year
5. Area of Study: Management - N

In the application, I cannot see where I need to upload essays or anything related to them. Am I missing something here? TIA

Only after submitting your application and paying the fees, you can start the upload of essays and other check documents.

Hello everyone,

I will be attending McGill in Fall 2019 (Class of 2021). I was admitted last year, but had to defer due to personal issues. In case anyone is curious (as these questions came up last year), my app was as follows:
GMAT: 680, Degree: Elec. Eng. GPA: 3.52

Cheers,
Vlad

Can anyone let me know if TOEFL/IELTS is required to apply for the MBA program if one has completed his education from India? The website mentions sending an email to the admissions committee about this but I haven't yet received an email back from the committee.

I have completed my degree in an English university in Canada and still decided to take the TOEFL to avoid any confusion during the application process. It's a very easy test and you should need minimal preparation to get a good score if you did in fact study in English. If you haven't studied in English, I believe that the exam is mandatory for the application.

Hi All,

From now on jegan2388 will take the ownership of this thread. Since he went through the admission process successfully with an admit and is going to attend the school in 2019, his answers will be much more relevant and helpful.

Thanks.

Hey there,

There won't be anything drastically different than the standard MBA interview questions. The discussion would revolve around your resume and your essays. If you are confident enough of handling questions related to that, you'll do good.

My interview the previous year was quite informal, and was more of a discussion than an interview. Make it two-way traffic than the standard Q&A format, and it would seem like a friendly little discussion with the interviewer on your career thus far, your interests, why an MBA, and how do you see your career branching out post MBA.

Hope that helps.
