SCHULICH MBA ADMISSIONS TEAM INTERVIEWS WITH GYANONE: ALL YOU WANTED TO KNOW

Interview with Imran Kanga, Admissions, Schulich School of Business, York University. Imran shares his detailed insights into how the Schulich MBA programs is changing and a lot of initiaves being taken at this top business school in Canada, to help students transform their careers.

[A snippet]

GyanOne: How does the Schulich MBA support students who are looking at entrepreneurship as a career option?

Imran Kanga: We offer support in a variety of ways. Firstly, Canadian universities are all government funded and the government of Ontario has its own incubation center. At Schulich, we offer all the services that an incubation center would provide, such as mentorship, guidance, and support, although we do not run a formal incubation center. We also offer events centered on entrepreneurship, such as entrepreneurship themed case competitions as well as guest speakers. A number of our alumni are running successful startups in Canada and outside, and some have also appeared on Dragon’s Den (the Canadian equivalent of Shark Tank).....An Interview with the Schulich MBA

Hi mahu101,

I had met Satyameet Ahuja from Schulich at the MBA Tour(Bangalore) on 20th September.
It was a really good experience with regards to understanding the school better.

Here is a snippet of the information that I came to learn first hand

1. There is hardly any difference between the MBA(Toronto) program and the MBA in India program!
In the MBA in India program, the first year(comprising 2 terms) takes place in the Hyderabad campus
and the 2nd year takes place in Canada.
2. All those students who take the MBA in India program are automatically eligible for a CAD 15k
scholarship. Not to mention the difference in living costs involved during the first year of the
graduate program. The work visa is applicable for a period of up to 3 years similar to the
MBA(from the toronto/keele campuses)
3. The placement packages range from CAD 65000-165000.

It has been over a week since I submitted my application; I expected the admissions to be rolling, so what can be a rough estimate when I can expect to hear from the adcom.

I am planning on applying for a fully time MBA program 2018 intake. I am currently an Indian passport holder and going to apply as an international student. But I am also planning on applying for Canada Permanent Residency and hopeful of receiving it in 2018. Can somebody confirm if I initially apply as an international student and later on my status changes to PR holder just before the course starts or during the course, will I have to pay all fee applicable to international students or fee will also change as per the status change before or during program ?

just apply as international and mention your PR application in optional essay. Once you get it, you can change the status on file and pay domestic tuition.
