Given: k/60125 = 0.001 Rewrite right side as fraction: k/60125 = 1/1000 Cross multiply to get: (1000)(k) = (1)(60125) Divide both sides by 1000 to get: k = 60125/1000 [there are 3 zeros in 1000, so when we divide by 1000, we move the decimal point 3 SPACES TO THE LEFT] We get: k = 60.125
