Calling all Krannert(Purdue) Applicants: (2016 Intake) Class of 2018!!

Hi All,

I've been checking this site for any updates/insight into applying to Krannert, and just realized I never posted anything about *my* experience to help those who are also applying :)

Me:

WE: 6 years in Chicago and NYC (working in start-ups, merchandising and analytics)
UNDERGRAD: 3.122 undergrad at Ohio State/Fisher College of Business, studied Logistics and City & Regional Planning (*note I worked full-time throughout undergrad, self-financing my degree)
GMAT: I was testing between 680-690, but for the Weekend MBA program there's a GMAT waiver if WE/undergrad is good, so I opted not to take it

I applied to the Weekend MBA program January 12 (R2). I received an invite to interview Jan 29th. I interviewed 2/4. The interview went very well. It was very casual, almost too casual IMO. I didn't get asked a lot of questions, it felt more of a sell on Purdue, why Purdue is great and the Weekend MBA program is a good fit for what I need.

Today is 2/16 and still no word. The feeling from the interview was that I got in, since there weren't many questions but rather more of a sell on the program, but it's been 12 days and no word. Thoughts?

I wouldn't start sweating yet. 12 days really is not that long, especially as they are in the middle of other interviews now. I was admitted and it was probably about 3 weeks after my interview that I heard

Awesome thanks. I saw someone else post they found out 5 days after the interview, so that's when I started getting nervous! If you heard within 3 weeks, I'll expect the same. Really appreciate it. Thanks.

TOEFL : 105
Work exp: 49 months when i get in to program in IT MNC QA India

Applied on 15th Jan 2016.
After a month i got to know that they havent got my degree certificate , :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll:
After submitting that I got a call in a day for interview. Feeling bad because one month got wasted. But on the other hand , I see that no one has got invites before 20-30 days :-D :-D

I have my interview on 25th Feb.
Guyz please post any specific interview questions if you have apart from general questions..

Hi,
So I have this question for the people who gave interview previously.
Interview question are general, it appeared that interview was intended to be short 15-20 minute.

It started with the Question why Purdue ?
I felt, I messed up on one of question where they asked about the team work, I went little bit of off-tangent here.
So , I just wanted to know if I messed up my chances , It was my last interview and I had not made to any school yet.

I wanted to have opinion if I should say good bye to my chances of joining the MBA or should keep hope.
Also , They told me to wait for 3-4 weeks , but I noticed on the board people got reply in 1 week time.

So any idea how long purdue take to have a decision.

Hi, I had my interview on 22nd and Got an email saying I have been recommended for Krannert MBA for 2016-18. The mail does not have any details regarding GA or scholarships. Did we have to apply it separately or I will have to ask, if they could give me any?

pankajvashist : One question does not make any difference. You will make it...:). All the best.

ambitiousnerd : Questions were quite general why mba, why purdue, why now. My interview lasted only 17 minutes.

I got a separate email with GA information a few hours after my admissions email. There was a box on the application that said something like "I would like to be considered for financial aid or graduate assistantships" that I checked, but I don't think that was necessary to actually be considered. You should have been automatically considered for any GA money with your application.

bbednar Dude Just now, I got scholarship mail which is very less. I was expecting GA that would have made it possible for me to join Krannert....:(

Got email on 23rd feb.... I am on admissions waitlist :( They advised me to update them with any significant changes to my application!

I think at krannert they don't reject... just put ppl on waitlist :-D

Im in :)..got an email 2 days back..can any admitted students share how long it would take to get the mail from the dean and details regarding GA/aid...

I am not sure if I have ticked the option of GA during application..is there any way to check it ??

Hey, Congratulations :)
I got it within 24 hours of receiving the first email, the one in which they mentioned that i am recommended for MBA at Krannert.
