I believe you will receive a decision as Round 1 applicant, i.e. around Apr 15. but it could be delayed for a few days too.

I had the interview last week. Will the decision be released on April 15 or on a rolling basis? Thanks

I applied in R1 last month and was wondering whether interviewing candidates is a standard part of the application process? Sound like a silly question I know, but I checked the application requirements section of the MSCM program and its unclear whether interviews are requested from candidates as a mandatory step. Would appreciate it if anyone could shed light on this. Thanks! :)

Hi interviews are initiated by the admission office. It's a mandatory step to get accepted to the program.

Thank you ivanmiyu !

Just one quick question : Who shd we select as recommendor ? I have one recommendor as my direct supervisor and thinking about second recommendor . Also for Consulting what sort of extra effort do you mean ? it would be great if you can site some example.

Again thanks a lot !
ivanmiyu wrote:
* Two recommendation letters are required from MSCM program.
* It depends on people's lifestyle for the monthly living expense. But generally, the biggest part from rent ($600 - $1,200 monthly). For food, a meal in the restaurant usually cost $10 - $30, you will of course save a lot by cooking at home. A lot of us take bus (free) or walk to school so transpiration cost is not high for most of us.
* We shared Ross and Tauber resources on workshops, simulations, team buildings around leadership. You can also develop leadership skills in your team projects, especially Tauber project. Leadership development is integrated into the whole MSCM experience.
* We have folks go for consultancy firms almost each year though not a major portion. You will also need to make extra efforts and prepare yourself for on/off campus recruiting for consulting jobs.
* I don't see the discrimination. It depends on hiring companies, and also individual candidates. It's really about your personal fit to the particular position. For example, 1/3 of our previous class got offer from Amazon. It hires both MBA and MSCM students and the package offered is the same. Again, more on individuals instead of programs.

Hope this helps.

Hi Guys,

How many recommendation letters does Ross MSCM require ? Under application requirement it mention 2 recommendation letters are required but on application page it mention "List one recommender who will complete a reference form in support of your application. Your recommender will receive an email with instructions. If you are not selecting a direct supervisor as your recommender, please address why in the optional essay. "

Also can someone from current batch give monthly living costs estimate ? What avenues are available to MSCM students for leadership development ? Does consultancy firms hire MSCM students as in employment data no info is available. last and most dreaded doubt/fear"Does companies consider Masters student below par compared to MBA students even for ops/ supply chain roles?"

Thank you,

As you might know well, the decision for R1 has been just released. I am on a wait list...and accepted the wait list offer because I really need this program personally. But when I accepted the wait list offer, there was an explanation that the school will inform the status change until December 1, 2016. I think that this is too much late...

1) I want to know if the school changes my status exactly on December 1, 2016 or if the school changes the status as any new spaces are available.
2) Is there anyone who knows how many people in the wait list can be normally accepted to the program...?

Hello, all,

We are the current students of Master of Supply Chain Management (MSCM) in University of Michigan (Class of 2016). We are opening the informal discussion forum here to all the prospective students, with the purpose to share info about our own experience and try to answer any questions you may come up with, which might include,

• Application process,
• the program (curriculum, action-based learning modules, internships),
• Financing (loans),
• Recruiting,
• Life in Ann Arbor (Weather, foods, housing, entertainment, lifestyles,
• Anything else :)

Please post your questions here and we will check the forum frequently to answer. Good luck! :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some highlights we have for this program are,

• Deep dive into all supply chain subjects;
• Action-based learning (lots of hands-on experience and connections to industries);
• Automatic enrollment with Tauber Institute for Global Operations (a joint venture between Ross School of Business and College of Engineering)
• Guaranteed and paid summer project;
• High placements rate (100% within three-months of graduation)
• STEM certified (29 months of OPT)

If you are looking for more program specific info, you may also check out MSCM and Tauber websites, or sign up for a “Virtual info session”and/or “App chat” with the program director.

Thank you for your efforts to share your experiences. I am really interested in this program, and Ross MSCM is my target program. So your information and expereinces wil be very helpful for me.

Today I got an interview invitation, and will prepare the interview for an admission. However, I do not have enough information about the interview for the program, and want you to share your interview experiences when you applied for this program, such as interview questions, atmospheres, tips, or things that I must remember. In addition, I think that it will be very good if you can let us know your winning strategy for your interview for the program.

I have been put on the wait-list too.

The Ross MS SCM program was one I really wanted to get into. Let's hope a decision regarding the wait-listed candidates is made soon.

I've been put in wait list too. Anybody else?

For the ones that are in wait list. Are you considering other programs that start in August 2016? Have you been accepted anywhere else?

Thanks,

I accepted the wait list offer as well. I have been aspiring the Ross MSCM program for a year now. For some reasons I couldn't apply last year. I was disappointed that I was wait listed. I look forward to the results when they are announced.

This group has really been helpful. Appreciate all your efforts.
