We request all applicants to add Alberta MBA program to your MBA timeline so that the applicant stats displayed in the first post reflect true picture of admissions. While adding the program, MAKE SURE you are setting it for graduation year i.e. 'Class of 2019'.

Hi, I'm Sean replying to the question on job prospects in the healthcare industry. Edmonton and Alberta have a large healthcare service delivery sector, however biotech and pharmaceutical work is small compared to healthcare service delivery, e.g. hospitals, health clinics, etc. If you did want to get into health service delivery you will need some Canadian experience, however UK/Australia/NZ/US experience may also be accepted. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Is there any other industry where someone can work in the Supply Chain/Operations functions post-MBA?

Hi,

There are lots of Supply Chain Opportunities in Alberta in a multitude of industries. I have a Supply Chain background and my most recent position before entering the MBA was in Oil and Gas. You may want to look into the Supply Chain Management Professional Designation (SCMP) through the Supply Chain Management Association to compliment your MBA. I believe that in recent years Alberta has had more graduates from the SCMP program than any other province in Canada. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi,

Finance/investment banking is not a huge sector in Edmonton. There would be some opportunities but it is quite a competitive industry. There would be some internship opportunities but again they will be very competitive.
