Use the higher score. Have a reasoning for drop in IR if asked. Hope this helps and good luck

Hello! I am hoping to get some l thoughts on which score I should submit. Since I took the GMAT online, I believe there’s the option of sharing one or both. Also, I'm targeting H/S/W if that matters.

1. 730 (49Q, 41V, 8IR)
2. 740 (49Q, 41V, 5IR)

My second score is higher overall, but the quant and verbal had no change. Also, the IR score went down in the second test.

Will it reflect poorly to see the lack of improvement if I report both? If so, thoughts on which score to use? Thank you!

Hello qqgmat,

Thank you for sharing. I would say the 740 is better but suggest trying to share both if possible! This will not reflect poorly on your abilities just because there is not much change – both are solid scores.

If you would like help putting together strong applications for H/W/S, take a look at Personal MBA Coach’s comprehensive packages to learn how we can help enhance your candidacy.

Hello qqgmat,

In such situations, it is best to report both; needless to say, this will not reflect poorly at all. If needed, one can always use the Optional Essay (or, an email, in case the school does have an Optional Essay) to address the lower IR.

All the best!
