Hi,

Thanks for letting us know.
Many have mentioned that they were unable to locate this new centre.
Can you confirm if the location on google maps is accurate ?

I have also booked a date at the Barakhamba Road Center.
I have a few more questions:
1) What is the color of the scratchpad? Is it white or yellow?
2) What kind of temperature can one expect inside the room? In the sense that what should you wear?
3) I know that they do not allow front open sweatshirts inside the room. Was that an issue for you?

Thanks.

Hey NitinGMAT19
I will try and answer each of your questions.

1. The colour of the scratchpad is white. They give you 1-2 black pen and you can ask for another one anytime both the pens and the pad.

2. The temperature I felt was normal. I gave my test in the last week of November so I went wearing a T-shirt and jeans only. With your question of what to wear, wear a T-shirt along with a sweater or a closed sweatshirt. If required you can take the sweatshirt of the sweater out. Most importantly wear something comfortable.

3. They won't allow jackets or any open sweatshirts inside the examination room but they do have a provision of keeping them either in a hanger or in the locker.

I hope this helps.
All the best for your exam.

Answers:
1) White, with grid
2) ~23 degrees, wear a t-shirt and a sweater (Avoid pockets). Avoid clothes with pockets. Jeans is fine, they'll make you pull out the pockets though.
3) Yes, they asked me to take it off. I was wearing a tshirt and a sweater under the jacket. There are hangers outside where they will ask everyone to keep their jackets.

Not yet, and even there are not any reviews on any other page. Still, hoping somebody reads this and reply soon.

It is very easy to locate. Since the name says Ashoko Estate, it is actually Ashoka Estate and it just next to Barakhamba road metro exit 1.

Hope it helps!!

Hi

Are you expected to wear a mask throughout the duration of the exam?

Any other changes due to covid?

Hey,

I took the exam at the Ashoka estate, Barakhamba road centre. As srij13 rightly said, it is incorrectly spelled as ashoko on the official gmat website.

Superb centre, they did nothing wrong. Quiet centre, no noise, professional staff, great infrastructure. They provide earplugs and noise canceling headphones too (though they're a bit too heavy), both of which one doesn't require as the centre is quite noise free. Parking is 20/hr behind the ashoka estate building. If the appointment is early in the morning you'll get parking easily. If later then just give the keys to the parking guy et voila.

Now idk if this is a gmat problem or a center problem, the pens don't work too well on the scratch pad. For those who don't know what a scratch pad is, it's nothing but a long laminated sheet of paper, on which one writes using a marker (not a very thick tip don't worry). Those pens are not very helpful as they keep drying in AC. Every time it's left open for 2-3 secs, it dries out, and is super annoying. When we practice at home we aren't used to this. I have seen lot of people complain about pens, and it is distracting for sure.

Now my advice would be, DO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PENS WORK WELL AT EVERY ANGLE POSSIBLE BY TESTING IT ON THE SCRATCHPAD BEFORE STARTING THE EXAM. I had to get a new one during IR section.

The test center is not picking up calls. Apparently, Pearson customer care is saying that if you cannot see available appointment dates, then it may be shut. On the other hand, if you have your appointment and have not yet received a cancellation mail, then it may be open. They do not have any idea at all if the centers are opened or closed.
