Hello,
I’ve been reading through the forums for a while and I was wondering what demographics and/or profiles of candidates are the most over-represented after the following ones I found in many of the posts and resources:
1.) Indian male engineer candidates
2.) Indian candidates (from India)
3.) Indian-American candidates
4.) Chinese candidates (from China)
5.) Chinese-American candidates
6.) White male finance candidates
Because I hear about the over-representedness of these groups often, I was wondering the following 3 questions:
1.) What other groups fall into the over-represented bucket?
2.) Would Korean-Americans fall in the over-represented category?
3.) All things equal - why does a Chinese-American candidate have a better chance of admission than a candidate from China?

Let me quote the bottom line here.
The research about the race, nationality and education background doesn't help any candidate grab batter chance at any B-school.
The favorable demography keeps shifting in different B-schools as per their need and focus. So the criteria may not be consistent.
If you are an aspirant then rather than looking into these facts, it would be more appropriate to work on personal profile, GMAT score as other factors can not be changed by the candidates.
Subjectivities are only good for discussion but if the influence of them can NOT be manipulated then the energy should be used for more productive measure that might improve chance of converting a good school.
