Hi All,

Just a quick question regarding the application...does ISB notifies the candidate if the application is rejected? I have applied for R2 and opted for Skype interview. So far no news about the interview ...any idea if they have started sending the Skype interview invites?

Thanks

Yes they do send the notification in case the application is not selected for the interview round.
The notification is sent around 5 to 7 days before the final date of interview, which in this case is 7th of february 2014

Interview exp: I had Skype interview and I wore suit to look good :)..... The interview started with normal questions - tellme something abt you, your progress so far after grad. No guestimate or one word essay. The panel had 2 alumni. Most of the ques were from profile except why mba and what are your immediate goals post isb mba. I m hopeful, but you never know.

hi, I had my interview in Delhi. The panel had 3 members. It was more of a discussion than an interview. It started with my job profile, then various govt. policies related to my profile, working of other companies in the same sector, why mba, my KPIs in a month, what kind of leader would i describe myself, how do i manage to get things done on time. Btw, I m in a power sector company, working in project management for last 3.5 years. All throughout the interview i felt they were expecting more either from my profile or my knowledge. I couldnt answer everything but the calmness on the faces made me calm and comfortable throughout. Anyways, the wait is killing me even if it is rejected ! only time can tell. !all the best to those who still have their interviews left! :)

Hi all,

So everyone is busy these days, minimal activity on the thread.
All those who have converted can you please change your status or post about it so that I can change the status.
This will help us in reaching a figure as to how many people from GMATCLUB converted their calls.

All those who were not able to convert, its time to move on, what are you plans for the next cycle?
Joining other schools, reappearing etc.

If reappearing, we can discuss some strategies to strengthen our applications.
The earlier we start, the better it is.

Also, did any body receive the feedback regarding his or her application from the ISB?

Welcome to gmatclub :)

Dude don't get demoralized with the low score, you have got a plenty of time in your hand to make that score reach the 7xx figure.
For verbal, go through the MGMAT sentence correction book and the OG thoroughly ... that should solve your problems :)
All the best with your preparation.
Also, since you are giving your GMAT in august, that will leave you just 1.5 months for your application as the R1 date is 15th september. So you should give the essays a look and start devicing a rough sketch of your essays probably after sometime.

When you sign up for the ISB application. Initially , there is a sort of registration form that you have to fill in. In the same registration form you have to enter date of first joining, I entered it as 08th March 10...which is graduation date. I shud have entered 09th March 2010. Now when you start to fill in your employment details , your first employment date must match with the date of first joining that you entered initially.

However the problem is resolved with the help of ad com.

There was no mention about ISB ranking on a continous landslide from 15 to 25 to 38 now on ft.....I mean the should come fwd and explain the reason behind that and what measures are being taken to correct the downward trend.

I have an explanation about that ...
I asked it during my interview, and the panel consisting on one adcom and two alums said that rankings give a high weight age on salaries and that too salaries in dollars, something around 40% weight-age.

So due to the ever sliding rupee, the average salary in dollars has decreased and hence the rankings.
There might be some other factors also, but if the info provided to me was correct, then this is a big contributor to the downfall in the rankings ...

Haha ... last time around there was a space of 3 :)
So i think we would have to do a lot of thinking this time.

You can write things which you achieved as a team, for example ... blah blah project was rated the best at my company or my team was rated the best team or probably something about your appraisal ... where you were rated best or among the best :)

Or probably you can cite en accolade for your work forma very senior person or your client ...

Its not about juts the major achievements.
its all about recounting those small things and i am sure you will be able to list down 10 15 achievements

Hope that helps :)
If you have any other queries, please share them and we will try to answer them ...
