sounds about right, just checking. I had some interaction with my manager a while ago and she mentioned my file was with the adcom. her tone sounded rather ambivalent... 'either wait or take yourself off.' o well.

Anyone know how long does it take WL managers to get back to you typically? I left a voicemail earlier in the week.

Also wondering if some WL managers are more helpful than others? Any insights will be much appreciated.

I wrote an e-mail to my WL manager as she was travelling, asking her when it would be convenient to call. She replied and we talked over the phone.

In terms of helpfulness, such a difference may possibly exist, but honestly, I don't believe this has anything to do with final decisions. At least this was in my case..

Thanks a bunch. It's helpful to know what's going on.

I have called multiple times with my WL manager and could not reach him. Is it better to leave a voicemail? I have also emailed him but not gotten any reply. Has anyone got any feedback on their application that you need to focus on while sending the "significant updates" ?

I'm especially interested to hear if anyone was told to re-take the GMAT or take a class.

R2 waitlister. I have sent e-mail to admission office, but yet to get reply. It would be helpful to share the feedback from WL manager such as retaking test or taking summer school.

Also, is there possiblitly that R2 waitlister will be denied in the first decision timing, mid-April?

Any one any hearing back from Adcom, W/l manager. If somebody doesn't hear anything by 19th April, does that mean a possible denial/ wait with R3 applicants?

In terms of significant updates, is it a good idea to share with the WL manager other schools you've been admitted to? Varies by situation?

No, I probably wouldn't volunteer that information. Kellogg wants students that will fit into their community and they might be offended if you imply that your fit/acceptance with another school should make you a stronger candidate for theirs.

Totally another story if they ask for that information - then definitely feel free to share which schools you were accepted to.

Hi All,

I am another waitlisted R2 applicant.

April 4 Monday: Left a message for my Waitlist Manager.
April 5 Tuesday Evening: WL Manager emailed me to set up a phone appointment
April 7 Thursday: Had a 10 min call
April 11 Monday: Sent in additional information

That's the extent of our interaction thus far.

Highlights of Phone Convo:

  • I was asked to provide anecdotes on how I've played a support role - makes sense because my interview and essays came on very strong.
  • Updates are meant to be informal.
  • I was asked if I've read the Waitlist FAQ. I said yes and my WL Manager made sure to emphasize that April 19 and May 11 dates are not drop-dead dates. Waitlist candidates are assessed on a rolling basis. We may or may not hear.

So, I see some comments about long wait time, lack of responses etc. I have gotten responses in a timely manner.

Just thought I would share.

Good luck all!

for the people that have sent in additional information, how long was your update, i have a draft at a page and a half but I'm debating whether or not it's too long.

Mine was about 300 words.

I think it's really however long you need to tell your story. As long as you are to-the-point, I don't believe there's stringent rules.

Does anyone have Michael G as the WL manager? I have been trying to get in touch but havent had success. Is it wise to send updates w/o getting in touch with your WL manager?

If you've left a few voicemails then maybe you should send an email with your updates, thank the Adcom for the continued consideration, and a few times when he can call you back.

I have Michael G - he has been out of the office traveling a lot. I did manage to track him down but his feedback was just that I, like most WL candidates, don't have any issues that need explaining rather that its just really a matter of space and seeing how the class falls
