Good past scores- back it up with a strong GMAT (720+) to show consistency. The challenge here is to showcase a need of a 2nd MBA since you already have one.Professional Experience:
Job 1 (35 months):
Consultant at Tata Consultancy Services. Client was Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Worked on a big development project wherein teams from India and US were involved with constant interaction with Onsite American managers. I was working as Module lead when I left the company. Didn't travel to US though
Job 2 Post MBA (30 months):
Strategy and Project implementation at Tata Capital. Was part of 2 member team which reported directly to COO for devising strategy and implementing key retail projects. Worked with C-suite business leaders for strategy preparation, budgeting, planning and project management. My team was handling total book size of more than 2B USD. I was key member of internal Tata team which handled a multi billion dollar project involving tie up with an International cab aggregator.
Startup (18 months):
Co founded a startup which was a B2B platform for SMEs. We matched web developers, designers, accountants with SMEs which wanted these services on a project to project basis. Was entirely self funded and we were cash flow positive. Had to shut down post demonetisation as our cash flows were completely squeezed. My co founder and I took up jobs to support the company but prolonged crunch forced us to shut down. Lots of learning especially how Government regulations can stifle entrepreneurship
Job 3 (18 months):
Operations head for retail loans for IIFL (mid size Non banking financial company). Was responsible for end to end operations for many retail lending products such as Personal loans, supply chain funding, working capital loans for SMEs, loan against card receivables and microfinance. Handled a pan India team of 25 operations managers and executives. Won the annual Ideation contest from amongst 10,000 employees and helped the company implement the idea
Job 4 (June 2018 till now):
Handling product for Mortgage loans at Capital First (which is soon becoming a Bank). Involved in key merger projects
Your work ex looks interesting but talk more about achievements and career progress than just your responsibilities. That is what will help your application stand out. Also, you should have a compelling reason to show why you are applying for an MBA fresh into a new job.Extra curriculars:
3 times national finalist and one time semi finalist at Tata crucible quiz competition (similar to US Spelling bee competition)
Top 5 International finalist at Tata Business leadership awards (presented to senior Tata leadership regarding increasing topline and customer centricity for the electronics chain Croma)
Avid blogger (have a personal finance blog wherein I give tips about saving and investment)
No volunteering work as of now
Just as work ex, show impact and contribution here.Interested area:
Would like to work as a Product manager in a fintech company and start a fintech startup in future
This is your biggest challenge. You have already done product management and have an MBA. Why the need of a second one and why now. Also INSEAD will expect you to showcase an international outlook (it is not the same as international experience). You can read more here on what factors to highlight in your written application and here on career goals. Colleges interested:
INSEAD, Kellogg 1 year program, SAID (Oxford)
With a clearer narrative on goals and a strong GMAT you may have a fighting chance. Let me know if you have further questions.
