Congratulations to everyone who got the HBS invite!

I have a 760 GMAT, 4.0 GPA. I did management consulting for 2 years before joining a VC firm. I started a company in my spare time that now has 10 employees and is profitable.

No invite.

There are tons of qualified candidates so don't be hard on yourself if you don't get one. It takes a mix of intelligence, hard work, and plenty of luck to get in.

I'm not actually from Buffalo but lived in the area for long enough to become a fan. Good to know there's plenty of WNY love on this board! Was actually in town this past weekend to see the Bills lose :( - Needless to say, the interview invite on Tuesday was a great pick me up.

Congrats to all so far who have received an invite. And deep breaths and best of luck for everyone watching their e-mails tomorrow.

Hello dexum,
Not trying to be rude. Why do you need an MBA? If I were you, I wouldn't look to waste my time and money. Practical experience matters to me the most.

Billsfan and quinnie,

I also got the invite yesterday as well. It looks like the adcoms feel bad for us bills fans after watching brady beat us down year after year. If we are lucky enough to be admitted we will have to find a bills bar in Boston.

Ok more questions on the application- I am applying for Round 2 btw. So for ECA, do you think its Ok to mention tutoring/teaching assistance-ships during college? I dont have space for it in the resume and it doesnt fit in employment (since we can only mention last 3 employers).

I agree. Sounds like dexum is already quite accomplished (not that the rest of the hbs applicants are not) and would seem difficult to explain Why MBA.

The VC firm I work at is small with no growth opportunities. The company that I started is cash flow positive, but not by much at this point. Not enough for me to quit my day job. HBS would be a perfect pivot point for me to launch my more ambitious idea for a new venture or join a larger VC firm with more opportunities to grow.

Everyone that applied to HBS would likely have a very successful career without an MBA. We all have our own reasons for why an MBA makes sense. Good luck today with the invites.
