1. Getting an employment pass is tough at the moment, but there are companies ready to sponsor it as long as you fit in. Till now there have hardly been any case of students having to go back to their country because of not getting EP. Industry experts predict things to get better Jan 2020 onwards. So I don’t think you should worry about it..

2. A mix of companies recruit, slightly inclined towards tech. Singapore in general is becoming more of a tech hub, specially with a great startup scene. Top tier consulting don’t hire, second tier consulting hire a lot,eg. Bts, simon kutcher. Finance is also decent, fintech is great. FMCG recruits, png,unilever. In tech almost all big companies hire, Microsoft, Amazon, google, adobe, sap,hp, grab. It’s all about making connections and fitting in, I have seen people get into top consulting or finance firms too. Refer to the site for data.

3. In most global/international schools there no culture of on campus recruitment in general. Nus career services does facilitate career events where you can make connections. You will be assigned a career adviser and you can work with him/her to make connections. So yeah job search is highly self driven. The more meaningful connections you make, more the chances of landing up a job. But this year specifically the career services at Nus has improved I would say, lot of intitiaves being taken to prepare students.
